Gobert is a dunker.Gobert:
15.5 pts, 15.1 rbs., 1.1 apg, 2.3 blcks, 70.6% shooting, 7.7 attempts per game.
Bam:
18.6 pts, 10.2 rbs, 3.2 apg, 0.3 blcks, 51.9% shooting, 13.5 shots a game.
neither take any 3 point shots.
Gobert- 3 time DPOY. 4 Time All NBA, 5 time All NBA Defense, 2 Time All star.
Bam- 0 DPOY. 0 All Star Games, 0 All Defensive Teams, 0 All NBA Selections.
However, Bam of course is 24. Gobert 29.
5 extra rebounds, 2 extra blocks per game, is well worth 3 points, WHILE taking almost 6 less shots a game. Its really not close. But Gobert plays in Utah- not Miami- so people do not pay as much attention.
I mean- looking at Gobert's resume- it sure seems that he is on a hall of fame track as long as he doesnt fall flat on his face. How many guys that are 3 time DPOY winners and 4 time All NBA BEFORE the age of 30 not get in the hall of fame? Seems he is on track to do similar things this year.
OR even better, both of them fail to make the FinalsHate the Nets. I would love to see the Warriors demolish them in the finals.
I actually agree. Gobert is a superior defender. Bam is a hell of an athlete but Gobert is too and he is still no slouch guarding the perimeter. Bam is definitely superior in that phase but overall I would take Gobert, I think most would. Bam is a really good fit for that Heat team.of course Bam is a better perimeter defender- he is a lot smaller and athletic.
that does not change the facts one iota that Gobert is a superior defensive player- hence the MULTIPLE Defensive Player of the Year Awards.
if you think that just being versatile makes you a better overall defender you are insane. Tristan Thompson was a versatile defender big man- but that didnt qualify him as a Defensive Player of the Year candidate.
Its a very good and useful tool to have in your tool belt, but you arent judged on how versatile you are alone- you are judged on how much you effect opposing offenses, and even though Gobert doesnt leave the paint- he effects opposing offenses much more.
Hawks traded Reddish to the Knicks.
Knox and a protected 1st.....they also got Solomon Hill from the Nets.
I don't think anyone would argue Bam is the better, more versatile offensive playerGobert is a dunker.
Bam may not shoot 3's. But....he is far more versatile offensively. He can hit the 15-18 footer.
Hmm I'm not sure what to think about that. It's Charlotte's pick so how good will it be this year? They are making the playoffsHawks traded Reddish to the Knicks.
Knox and a protected 1st.....they also got Solomon Hill from the Nets.
Too soon!
I was thinking the same...clearly his signing was a mistake (not saying one that mattered all that much) but with almost no guards he didn't play until game was decided.Rondo out so it’s Pangos again ffs
yes.
done. 83 minutes played so far in January. 8 points.
not saying thats his job- to score- but ya cant be worthless.
No.
He's been this guy since day 1.
The rest of the world is just taking notice.
He been talking that shit since Rookie Year.
No doubt not close to the playoff feel of our last game with them.I don't even recognize them
LOL.
Hawks traded Reddish to the Knicks.
Knox and a protected 1st.....they also got Solomon Hill from the Nets.
and the coach and GM signed for the next half a decade.not sad the Cavs are 6 games up on the Hawks and 3 on the Celtics with over half the season done and prob. the easiest schedule in basketball the rest of the way for the Cavs.
nooooooot what i was expecting. lol.
Damn! They got Reddish for trash. Nice move.Hawks traded Reddish to the Knicks.
Knox and a protected 1st.....they also got Solomon Hill from the Nets.
