What is your definition of valuable? I ask this because Memphis did great when he was out for nearly a month due to his ankle injury/covid so how valuable is he?

Memphis went 10-2 in the stretch Ja was out. That's amazing....

You see who their wins were against when Ja was out?

Sacramento - 2
Okc - 1
Dallas - 1
Houston - 1
Toronto - 1
Lakers - 1
Philly - 1
Portland - 1
Miami - 1

Not exactly a killer schedule.

Because Ja's doing all of this with realistically a fraction of the talent level Derozan is surrounded by.

There's a huge difference in how teams play you individually based on the surrounding cast. Teams can't sell out on Derozan because they have Lavine, Vucevic, Ball, etc. No one is scared of Dillon Brooks or Kyle Anderson.

Ja's getting the full game plan from every other team, yet he's still succeeding in a big way.
Overall I do agree Chicago has better pieces but it isn't as far off as people think imo. I do think Ja deserves to be in the conversation as much as most but his supporting cast is pretty underrated. They were still winning games without him for a month. I think it's just new though, it's hard to evaluate a supporting cast when they don't have years together and/or new pieces. A lot of young pieces for Memphis but it's all coming together.

Bane is playing amazing. A possible candidate for most improved player.
JJ is a young beast with AS potential.
Adams fits the mold as a big man role player.
Melton is a very nice role player.
Brooks is that volume scorer every team needs.

Like I said this team is very young but I think right now they have one of the best cores in the West (at least the teams that are healthy).

Suns, Warriors, Jazz, Grizz are right there a notch below but they can compete wit anyone bc they bc of the depth and defense they play. Grizz and Cavs are the two teams where it's hard to say where they are in their rebuild but making big jumps this year

*Clippers (PG & Kawhi out)

Gary Payton II better receive some All NBA Defense votes this year. Dude is an absolute monster on that end of the court. He's made himself a lot of money this year and will be a staple on an NBA roster for years to come.
That apple didn't fall far from the tree at all.
No question...the dude has been a key asset for the Dubs.

It's all the tangibles he brings to the game...am I right, coach?

Quinn Snyder's case for Draymond.

Ask his ex-wife

:dhd:

You ask her.

Not sure what that even has to do with anything he said regarding Draymond anyhow....lol

But carry on.

That said...

Snyder is obviously lobbying in case Green ever becomes a FA, and seeks a trade.
He would love to have him on his roster in Utah if he had the chance...what rational head coach wouldn't?
