Cavaliers have a few tough games the next 2-3 weeks.....and then after that it gets very very weak.

in his defense- the last few games the Heat are not exactly beating the '97 Bulls.

last two weeks they:

lost to the Cavs
beat Philly (which was good win)
beat Orlando
lost to Detroit
beat Indiana
beat Detroit at home by 2- a Detroit team that was pretty awful and missing guys
beat Orlando

not exactly an unmerciless gauntlet of skill. lol. L:ast 5 games are about as easy a schedule as you can make in the NBA.

Usually when you play a ridiculous schedule, there are easy games to follow. Miami played 19 games vs teams who are currently over .500

Only the Blazers played more

Just a reminder that the Heat played the following teams multiple times already.

Milwaukee-3X
Utah-2X
Chicago-2X
Memphis-2X

About to head out on a 7 game road trip where they play the top 2 teams in the league. Did we not expect an easy stretch at some point?

craziest stat I have seen

The Cavs point differential is +6.5....by far the best in the East. No one else is even at +4.0.

could have won a lot of money betting that. lol. that cant possibly hold up.

my point is- many of those games were early when you had most, if not all, of your guys.

beating Orlando and Detroit and Indiana with "depth" is not exactly mindblowing.

I've been told the East is significantly better than the West now

At the end of this roadtrip, they would have played 10 more road games than home games and all of these games since late November came with at least 2 of their top 4 players missing....sometimes 3 of their 4

They have done a good job with the schedule/injuries to be 21-13

hmmmmmm.......

hey- I of course am slightly partial (slightly) to my Cleveland Cavaliers......but if they have the best point differential in the East- something is very wrong.

its a bunch of kids (many who can't legally drink- or just can) and Ricky Rubio shooting 35% and Kevin Love's resurrected corpse.

Who is celebrating those wins? I'm the one that brought up this stretch a few days ago and said they need to take advantage of it. I'm happy to see the young guys and 2 way players step up in these times but I'm not beating my chest about beating those teams

Rubio has brought a lot to the Cavs- not the least of which is leadership- and an ability to settle things down and get guys in their spots when things start going bad...

but dude is taking 12 shots a game and shooting 35%......gotta do better than that. Him and Markkenen are about tied for 2nd most FGA's per game on the whole team. MArkkenen at 40% from the field at 32% from 3 aint much better.

maybe give Jarret Allen another shot or two instead of Rubio clanging bricks all the time.

all in all- there 2nd and 3rd highest field goal attemptors are shooting terrible- which actually gives the Cavs some room to get better.

And for the record the Pacers with Brodgon, Levert, Sabonis, and Turner is a much more talented group than the Heat team that they brought up there the last 2 times. We are not going to sit here and act like the Pacers didn't have much more talent on the court in those games. More than half of the guys the Heat played in those games were either undrafted and/or 2 way players or former 2 way plaers. The last 2 games against Indy, they played 7 undrafted guys and 3 drafted guys

not saying you were.....

I am saying---- one game where the Warriors give up a few more points than the Cavs, and the Cavs takeover as the stingiest defense in the league

Warriors giving up 101.2 per game.....Cavs 101.4

next is Miami at 103.7....over 2 points away from those teams.

Points allowed isn't the best judgment of top defense. I usually go by defensive rating and opp fg%. Pace of play for example can lead to a team allowing fewer points

Yup, both teams playing great D. Suns too. Cavs are the fun surprise of the year so far.

Okoro exited protocols- but Cavs- like they did with Markkenen and Love are bringing them back slowly, and not putting them right in.

Really love how Bickerstaff and the organization are taking a long view on things- and sticking to the plan instead of going after every single win and rushing guys back.

mobley missed some games with minor injuries that he couldve played through. Markkenen and Love missed multiple games even though they were cleared. Now Okoro same thing.

taking care of their guys and doing things the right way instead of being tempted to go after every single win. I think its smart business to do that kind of thing early in the season and maybe itll pay off by keeping guys healthy longer term. I hope so at least.
