@dtgold88 claims that “I went out of my way to not credit the Cavs in this post”

Dude, you are bat shit crazy.

This post was about Wiggy and his misplaced hate. Has nothing at all to do with the Cavs organization.
This was my exact reply, chief......" took them 7 years just to get back to the playoffs.....and that was WITH lebron. While I can agree with some of what you are saying about the LA fans it's kind of funny you think LA had some magical turnaround but try not to credit the Cavs ever if you can help it.

Lakers got Lebron back but took 7 years to reach playoffs and win title. Cavs got Lebron back, made playoffs in year 5 and won title in year 6. Second time they rebuilt and no Lebron. Are now in year 4 and look like they could make playoffs if relatively healthy.....without Lebron.

could argue Ingram and Ball might have won with Lebron (not sure if they could have kept Randle and gotten Lebron but seems like they could). That said, they did win a title with AD so hard to criticize that."

Only strong disagreement I had occurred in what I mentioned in the first/second paragraphs and it stands. No need for a typical meltdown by you when someone points out where he/she disagrees with your "logic".

I have in the past for sure. Not lately.

Only because certain Cav homers were constantly sucking him off.

If not for that, I would never say a word about Gilbert and Cleveland.
sucking him off by appreciating he has an obscene will to win and will do all he can to win a title for the team we cheer for? In addition, often refuting baseless opinions about him or the team with facts.

You have come out and said you don't like the guy, and that's cool. THAT is why your opinions are often clouded. This includes why I made the comment I did about your post which you seem to have a hard time with.....You seem so sure the Lakers can turn things around quickly, even though WITH Lebron in a FA destination city they took 7 years to get to the playoffs.

You also might not have ripped him lately because some of those so-called homers might have been right and the rebuild is coming along just fine?

It is coming along fine.

And despite all that, the Cavs aren’t likely to contend any time soon.

Because it is really hard to contend in a market like Cleveland.

Because you are making stuff up out of nowhere to start an argument.

My post had NOTHING to do with Cleveland. So why would I credit them?

I would have thought the same and given little to no chance......now I'm not so sure. Will have a better idea after seeing this season play out then what they do with Sexton.

But either way, it looks like the Cavs could get to the postseason in year 4 of a rebuild without Lebron (and not in a FA destination city) nor any cap space, while LA took 7 seasons and needed him to get back (AND had cap space for another stud FA).

How exactly did I go out of my way not to credit them?

I didn’t credit any organization.

Miami and LA obviously have immense built in advantages due to their markets.

Yeah, you basically always bet la or Miami vs a Midwest team just for those inherent benefits

Not making anything up....you clearly have all the faith in the world in LA for whatever reason (other than maybe location) even though they needed 7 years to get back to the playoffs needing Lebron to get them there. Seemed odd you had so much faith they could get it done so quickly WITHOUT Lebron.

I'm sure there's a lot of pressure for the games to be played on Xmas day... but the Celtics have so many guys in the CV19 protocols that today's game @ Milwaukee should really be postponed.
don't they have 4 of 5 starters available? "So many guys"? No doubt missing Horford and likely some key reserves, but teams have played with much less it would seem.

"Didn't credit any organization"? I'd say thinking LA would get back to the top quickly when he leaves is offering credit to that organization.....especially when it took them 7 years last time and that was by acquiring Lebron in that 7th season.

No doubt LA should have an advantage to bring in a FA but how soon also depends on when they can clear cap space and likely will also need to bring in some quality picks of their own (and they have lost a number of them).

Not implying they should not have acquired Lebron as he won them a title so no doubt was the right move (still was even if they didn't).

Miami for sure has gotten some good ones. Might be forgetting but for whatever reason seems that before Lebro,n LAL had mostly struck out on stud FAs....even with Lebron with room for another, and this includes guys from LA. Of course, if FAs didn't go because they didn't want to play WITH Lebron that wont be an issue when he leaves.

NBA rules are clear now. If you have 8 players available then the game will go on

That's what I was thinking. I really didn't know the Cs situation so figured they might be ravaged before I saw their lineup (to think that game should have any reason to be postponed). Had nothing to do with Christmas.

And they're up 18 currently. Health and safety protocols is annoying but if you have your key players then you can survive.

Is it more than some other teams have had out who had to play, like the Cavs at Boston the other day or Bucks against many teams over the past week or so?

It's either 9 or 10 guys out due to the protocols.

Do the have 8 players available?

That's why the NBA allowed these replacement players to be signed. I think Boston got 10 or 11 based on what I see on espn

How many titles do the Lakers have?

How many titles do the Cavs have?

I have 17 reasons to think the Lakers will win before Cleveland post LeBron.

Has everything to do with the history of the franchise man.

No need to take that comment so personally.
