More like a Rodman minus the crazy. Excellent defender, even better rebounder.

I do think he was better than that.

Russell wasn’t ever going to be an offensive force, but he did care about offense.

I like the Ben Wallace comp with a little more offensive game. Maybe even peak Joakim Noah type player (he was really good for a couple years).

My bad.

Good looking out, Wamupedia.

I stay away from Wilt and Russell.

Never saw them play and I tend to devalue heir accomplishments because of it.

I got Bill as he GREATEST WINNER of all times.

But, it's hard for me to put him ahead of players like The Dream.

Would Bill be a David Robinson, Ben Wallace or Nerlens Noel if he played today?

* please don't kill me for the Nerlens suggestion *

...and it's impossible for me to understand how Wilt could have possibly been more dominant than non-lazy Shaq.

According to most, he was.

This might sound a little crazy…

But is Steph Curry a modern day Bill Russell in terms of team impact?

Think about it.

There is no way he can pass muster when comparing him to the top guards on the GOAT list as an individual player. He just can’t do as many things well as a guy like Kobe could.

BUT…

In an era where we are spending a lot of time talking about how difficult it is to play with some of the games biggest stars, Steph is the opposite of that.

He shares the ball, he is unassuming and humble, doesn’t mind sharing, or even giving up the spotlight.

And his teammates are just always a lot better when he is out on the floor with them.

If LeBron is the generation’s Wilt, then maybe Curry is Russell.

And it is okay to slide him up the all time list a little higher than what the eye test might say because of it.

Kind of like with Russell.

Not from my perspective!

It's weird because I remember the very moment I saw the Stack for Rip trade. Obviously before the net took hold on our phone. Was thrilled in that moment. Because Stack was a ballhog

Yeah, I didn’t like it, but also didn’t realize just how bad it was for a couple years.

One of many bad MJ decisions.

Didn’t make sense either. Seemed like MJ and Rip had good chemistry on the court. Then again, Rip was one of those guys that could probably fit with anyone.

Interesting trade team for Westbrook was talked about on Dan Patrick today.

No players were mentioned, but Frank Isola suggested the Knicks. Said they could use an "alpha" like Westbrook to give them the jolt they need because they've come back down to earth.

They've not only come back down to earth...but they are now sinking deeper into the subterranean levels far below the surface.

They need to do something ASAP.

You aren't ranting.

You are giving me information.

I openly admit my ignorance when it comes to the players of that generation.

I have no problem deferring to my betters.

You've done the homework, I have not.

I'm the same way with the NFL. But back to NBA action. Did you know Bob Pettit is # 3 all time in rebounds? 16-something

My God I hope that’s not true. Isn’t Carlisle old school enough to never have done that?
Sounds to me like sour grapes and scapegoating by Carlisle...
