It was closer than I thought, but don't think we took them lightly. They are well coached and had seen us already. Likely made some changes...did seem like the lobs were not as easy to get and Garland was swarmed more (another reason we could use sexton)
If Okoro is the guy we've seen the last 3 games we can be elite. I don't expect him to be scary good like he's been but if he can just be a 45% shooter and 35% from 3 with his defense we could at least be in running for a home playoff series.
If someone wanted to tap the Cavs and say don't let him shoot a corner 3 I'd have been OK with it.
It’s the way the league officiates Big Men. I see it with Embiid. Embiid gets mocked for all his flailing and histrionics on the court. He didn’t used to be that way. But he came to understand that you often have to embarrass and guilt these officials into making a call. Guys like Embiid and Jokic get fouled on nearly every touch but officials seem to look at it like you’re big, you should be able to play through illegal contact. It’s frustrating if you’re a fan of a team with a plus Big Man.
Not this guy. Then again, I never thought he'd play like he has this season.
There were many who didn't. There were other options other than letting him go and likely still paying most of his salary to go play for someone else.
