After seeing Curry out there looking pretty good (in the 2nd half once he got comfortable) and the effect of having Draymond there (he didn't play Denver at all this year) it feels like a gentleman's sweep, but 6 games wouldn't surprise me.

I was reading that the dubs will have to decide how much tax they want ti pay with guys line Wiggins and pooles contracts coming up.

Really curious what they do

They've never shied away from the tax. They are definitely gonna extend Poole. I can see a possibility of trading Wiggins but he's an expiring next year so maybe they let him come off the books for tax relief.

I don’t mind if the Suns win but right now I am on the Grizz train.
In the East, if the Hawks win I would root for the MIA/ATL winner honestly. I dont care for any of the other east teams. I like the way Miami plays. Team ball and defense
Lived in Phoenix a few years so still like them....in the East I wouldn't mind seeing Toronto go far but doubt they will.

Cavs keep their 1st and maybe they can get a suitable backup PG if they are lucky. The kid from Nova really impresses me but I dont see him being mocked in the 1st or really in the 2nd either but really getting a rotation player isn’t likely
I think I'd rather try to get a wing and a backup PG vet in FA (Rubio?).

They should be making a deal with that gift.

Maybe going hard for Lavine with sexton and the pick as a starting point. Although that is a complicated double sign and trade
we could lose the pick the next year so can we trade it this year?

You can do the deal and then “draft” him and then trade his rights

It’s a very common loophole.

I still like Rubio as an option but not sure what his timeline us as of right now. Plus they already know he fits. Revamp the bench a bit and I think their starters stay the same
Yep....plus we still have some young guys who are already good to really good (or even great) with more room to improve.

Even if Gilbert is open to it, would he really play for the MLE or less? I'm not so sure.
Again, while I'm not sure either, it seems plausible that he'd give up a few dollars he doesn't need to get more rings which he does.

Thought this was possible......so, really, only thing the Stepien Rule does is stop teams from dealing the picks before the draft, right?

I guess.......but if he's willing to play for a lot less, he could change locker rooms and play for the Clips. Though they might not want any part of him.

Also disallows trading firsts in consecutive years, right?

It's much less of an easy fit. PG and Kawhi are already there, etc. The Cavs are young and need a wing and a vet like LeBron. And it's Cleveland, obviously a LeBron friendly place.

No doubt it makes sense - maybe for everyone - when it comes to purely on court. I could really seeing his return coming down this time to whether Gilbert is willing to have him back.

Yeah it's not some lock, a lot would have to fall into place. But Gilbert might be the holdup, agreed. The thing is, Gilbert threw a fit when LeBron left the first time and then welcomed him back and won a ring and got to a bunch of Finals. Why wouldn't he try for another ring if the money works?

Right or wrong because he'd like to prove he can win without him?

That said, without the ring he has I think he'd look at it differently.

And then you won’t have any meaningful cap space for a guy who you will have to overpay to keep
That’s all your opinion at this moment. We don’t know how Sexton will fit in with this team or what they will pay him at this point. Plus, even if you do extend Sexton you can still package him in a deal to upgrade. They have young players and picks. In no way am I giving the Lakers an all-star type of player just to dump him for unknown cap space. You have to remember this is Cleveland, not Boston…players aren’t just coming to CLE. Big difference
