You can the former with the mle pretty easily

Also like Corey Joseph in Detroit

If Boston doesn’t need him, y’all should go get him lol
I still like Rubio as an option but not sure what his timeline us as of right now. Plus they already know he fits. Revamp the bench a bit and I think their starters stay the same

True. Can you get him on a one year deal?

He also seemed to tail off shooting wise after the hot start

Plus, couldn’t sexton be the backup pg?

You guys do have quite a few options

I would like to think Rubio + Sexton can coexist, that in itself is a huge upgrade for the bench. They can throw them in a lineup with a couple of defensive players bc that tandem isn’t good defensively. There are some questions marks: does LeVert stay on this team? Will Okoro improve enough to stay as the starting SG? What is Sexton’s role? Maybe like you said, they use Sexton as a backup PG and put shooting around him. Still in that scenario LeVert doesn’t fit. They could move him and pieces for a better fit and they still have the MLE

Yeah Grant doesn’t fit the team. Maybe a player becomes available but small trades, FA pickups and drafting is still the path unfortunately. Maybe down the road they can upgrade their wing. Right now, find a reliable backup PG and shooters.
LeBron, after next year. Very in play IMO

Another reason why I wouldn’t be heartbroken trading sexton for like a 2024 pick and bringing rubio back for a year

Keep that option open.

He is in play right now if the Lakers have any sense.
If I'm Cleveland I don't give up the assets to trade for him a year early. Give themselves one more year to progress, then add a one year older LeBron at the wing who will be even more amenable to a 'big brother/mentor' role and not just coming in and making himself the alpha.

Of course the downside is…the team sexton is the best fit for is the lakers

Nunn and one of those laker firsts?

Yeah but then he will be 39 and will he still want a new contract. Less risk without a doubt signing him instead of trading but trading for him might make more sense for cap purposes. We have no clue what he is expected to make at 39 though

Something like nunn and a first from the lakers

Keeps your 2023 cap sheet clean, fills backup pg short term so you can use your mle on a shooter.

It’s aggressive cap planning. So it may not be perfect/ideal.

But it sets you up for what you want next summer with an additional asset

Obviously I could be wrong but to me in another year LeBron might be willing to start the 'MJ on the Wizards' part of his career, in order to get another ring or two.

Sign for a reasonable amount like a 1 and 1 at $20 mil or so, play 30 minutes a game. He doesn't need the money obviously. And Cleveland is both the perfect place basketball-wise for him to fit that has a title chance, and of course it's coming back home again.

Nuggets are outmatched in this series. Warriors are the better team.
Far better might be a stretch, but outside of Jokic the Nuggets have very little (Murray and MPJ would obviously change that equation), and the Ws are basically all healthy now.

Nunn and 1st is trash. I’d rather keep Sexton long-term than give him away for scraps

Yeah far better wasn't the right thing to say. So I changed it. I just don't see the Nuggets making this a competitive series.

After seeing Curry out there looking pretty good (in the 2nd half once he got comfortable) and the effect of having Draymond there (he didn't play Denver at all this year) it feels like a gentleman's sweep, but 6 games wouldn't surprise me.

Gordon was a massive disappointment for the Nuggets last night.

If the Warriors are clicking on all cylinders it's gonna be difficult for the Nuggets to get 2 wins in the series.
