He signed an extension last summer I think, making one of if not the highest paid coaches in the league. Literally no reason for him to leave. This sounds more like the Lakers head coaching search strategy is to just go around to every head coach in the league and ask "hey, wanna be our coach?"

They'll use his name to hire his former assistant (and current Lakers assistant) Phil Handy as head coach.

Actually I believe everyone from the owner on down is culpable in the Lakers' situation...
Including Lebron.

He and Davis holding clandestine meetings with players under contract with other teams isn't a new phenomenon.

Hell, Kawhi just successfully pulled off that maneuver with George.

The Clippers can't say things have gone according to plan.

But, at least Kawhi was man enough to lay in the bed he made by signing long-term.

LeBron is like the locust plague of 1915.

He consumes all the natural resources and then moves on when the landscape is baren.

I guess we'd have to see the landscape after another year. Some up and coming younger team I would think (like the Cavs)

Memphis? Can't imagine LeBron in that tiny podunk market. OKC? Same (but worth it for @tlance 's head to explode) Charlotte? Not with MJ. Denver after Jokic goes to the Lakers as a FA? Maybe...

Just feels like how his last years will go, but who can say?
Brooklyn?:noidea:

Next time, bring your receipts:

I've seen more people only mention that LeBron's the real reason for the Lakers disappointing season.

If that makes me a liar in your eyes that's fine.

He's not the GM. And if Jeanie Buss was foolish enough to give LeBron enough power in the organization to be both player & a FO executive she needs to sell the team to someone that wouldn't let a player have power like that.

Dude, you are getting the #2 pick.

The Pelicans are getting #1 * Lakers *.

You are getting #2 and #15.

Powell coming back makes me think the Clips may slide in at #8.
I would prefer 1 and 14 with the extra few percent chance at getting 2 high picks!

I would be terrified to have the #1 pick this year.

This isn't the 2003 draft.

But, it isn't the Anthony Bennett , dnp-fat draft either.

I don't want you to be the team that takes Zion/Oden over Ja/Durant.
