At least he shouldn’t be. 1 year on the contract this summer is Washington’s best, and maybe last chance to trade him for a haul.

Besides, pick and roll is not Beal’s game. He can do it, but not where he excels.

I know that they should.

Do I think they will?

Probably not.

But I think you forget that the Wizards were pretty good there for a couple years with Wall and Beal. They were a 2nd round playoff team and Beal wasn’t even the best player on the team.

I doubt the Wizards get to that level with Beal, and Porzingas.

Sure, the East is stronger and deeper than it was back then, but the main point is that I don’t think this duo is going to be as good as the original Beal duo.

A big part of that is that as good as Beal is, I don’t think he is a number 1.

He is a pure scorer and can even be your best scorer, but he can’t be your best player overall if your team is going anywhere.

Melo was sick (not covid). Reaves? No idea. I assume its just Vogel being a dumbass. Kid is probably the lone bright spot of the season, an actually productive player, and the dumbass yanks him around the rotation constantly. People saying Vogel is just a scapegoat clearly don't watch the Lakers. He is definitely a problem.

I think you might be having some serious Samardo Samuels Syndrome with Reeves. He is undrafted- really cant play D, and shooting 30% from 3.

Is he a depth rotation guy? sure.

if he a guy id play if I was fighting tooth and claw for a play-in spot? hard no. I dont know where you guys think this is going with Reeves. Maybe he becomes a reliable bench 3 point shooter at some point- but playing an undrafted rookie in a must-win game over say Wayne Ellington is kinda nutso.

Yeah, he is basically a less athletic Alex Caruso without the defense. He is solid depth because he plays hard, stays in his lane and doesnt make a lot of mistakes. But if you are depending on him to get you a win in a close game...you are in trouble.

In short, he is the try hard guy that fans fall in love with, but doesnt make much difference as far as the outcome of the game.

Yup, he took a backseat to Giddey this year but the kid can play. He’s not as good but last year at times he reminded me of a young Tony Parker. The Thunder have more pieces than most know.
