On one hand, the Spurs probably need the better draft picks

On the other hand, this reminds me of recent bad Suns/Nuggets/Hawks teams that got a preview of things to come by playing hard

Dejounte Murray doesnt seem ready to quit.

Welp....

Both Jokic & Embiid are having damn good seasons.

Jokic is the only player in the top 10 in pts, rebs & asts. And he leads the league in double-double's & trip-dubs.

Jokic also is # 1 in...

-win shares

-box +/-

-value over replacement players

-player efficiency rating

But I think the MVP tiebreaker will be team record. And Embiid has the lead in that category.

And yes the 76ers 2nd best player (Simmons at the time) refused to play for the 76ers. Jokic has played the entire season without the teams 2nd best player (Murray) and MPJ has only played about 10 games.

Does he even fall into the Jag category at this point?

He is a 10 day guy at best.

The Nets may have fleeced the Sixers without even taking Simmons into consideration.

Instead of worrying about Oladipo, I would be more worried with my team being 31-43 on the verge of missing the playoffs thanks in part to the following shitty siginings this offseason:

Kent Bazemore
DeAndre Jordan
Kendrick Nunn
Wayne Ellington
Trevor Ariza

The real problem is that Heat player on the roster, poisoning everyone lol.

...which would indicate something if the general betting public was able to vote on MVP.

Vegas odds had the Lakers as co-favorite to win it all.

They hit a lot.

But, they are wrong occasionally.

Plus like @shopson67 said....they aren't the guys that are voting.
I just need to accept what sports has become. People are in love with analytics and it doesn’t dawn on anyone to question these metrics when they show that Joker is a top 5 defensive player. Does that make sense to anyone? Doesn’t matter. That’s what the numbers geeks say.

Drummond and Seth can really help them.......NOW.

Simmons obviously is the piece that helps them more going forward.

The only way this will be a complete HEIST is if the talking heads are correct about Harden losing a step.

He hasn't looked great.

But, I'm not sure it's permanent.

Yes Embiid averages more points and is a better defender. But in just about every other category Jokic is ranked higher.

I told you a couple of weeks ago all the numbers you choose to ignore will play an important roll in determining who wins MVP this season.

Embiid simply isn't the clear-cut winner.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

And this is what a 76ers homer says.

Does it make sense?

It does to me.

Eye test says the MVP should be Embiid.

But, I am easily seduced by points and defense.

Jokic is not in Joel's stratosphere defensively, if I simply go by the eye test.

But, like you said, that's not how the game is evaluated right now.

To be fair, Joel can't create anywhere near Jokic's ability.

Shit, most pg's can't.

If that's what voters prioritize, well....so be it.

Yep. Exactly what I’ve said. Analytics rules sports. That’s the only area where Jokic is a better player than Embiid. Joker’s fucking coach ran a scheme that ensured that Joker wouldn’t have to even guard Embiid. Haha! The MVP can’t even guard his position. His coach has to throw junk defenses out there because the “MVP” can’t even compete on the defensive end.
