Actually they all played their own instruments. The Wrecking Crew was only involved in their first two recordings. Get your facts straight.
The bulk of the band's material continued to be written by Dunhill Records staff (not only Sloan and Barri) and the LA studio-musicians who were part of what became known as the Wrecking Crew played the music on most, if not all, of their hits.[7] The Grass Roots also recorded songs written by the group's musicians, which appeared on their albums and the B-sides of many hit singles.

Priest is way more accessible than Soundgarden.
If TRex are one hit wonders, then what is Todd Rundgren?
Depeche Mode has 8 studio albums that hit the top 10 in the US and 6 singles that hit the top 40 (Enjoy The Silence hit the top 10).
Todd Rundgren is being acknowledged for his work with the Nazz, Utopia, and also his solo stuff...as well as for all the production/engineering/mixing he's done for numerous other bands, groups & artists.
I already said that the Wrecking Crew worked on some of their recordings.C'mon Man.
I've been a Grass Roots fan for along time..
The Wrecking Crew became the backbone on many hits for lots of bands & artists back in the day..(including them)
There's no shame in that whatsoever.
Sure, but if we're talking hits? Hello, It's Me?
They recorded some of the best stuff of the 70's.
I already said that the Wrecking Crew worked on some of their recordings.
I also like Three Dog Night and The Guess Who but to compare The GrassRoots to the Monkees is ridiculous. This was 73/74. They were done by then. They were a pop band.. basically The Monkees without a TV show. But they had some good tunes.
But if were talking pop/rock bands from that era both The Guess Who and Three Dog Night are more deserving than The Grass Roots.
Is ABBA in?
You don't even know what a cover band is you stupid, inbred, hillbilly. What is it with @Guns N Guitars and his love for glorified cover bands?
Sure, but if we're talking hits? Hello, It's Me?
I heard that on the radio yesterday. What a horrible song.
