TRex
Depeche Mode
Kraftwerk
MC5
Todd Rundgren
Pat Benatar
Rufus Featuring Chaka Khan
Whitney Houston

Top 5 get in. As much as I like Soundgarden and NIN, there are other bands that have waited much longer that should get in: Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, Depeche Mode, Motorhead, and TRex for me
Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, Motorhead, Pat Benatar, Notorious B.I.G.

Pretty much, the rest of this list can go fuck itself.

Bands that aren't in, that should be ahead of any of those listed...

Bad Brains
Black Flag
Faith No More
Fugazi
Gram Parsons
Husker Du
Iron Maiden
Jane's Addiction
Jethro Tull
King Crimson
Megadeth
Melvins
New York Dolls
Ozzy Osbourne
Pixies
The Runaways
Steppenwolf

There are probably a half a dozen more that I forgot.

Definitely Jethro Tull and The Runaways. Pat Benatar needs to be bolded.

Unpopular opinion ahead: Whitney Houston for the Rock and Roll HoF? Are we serious with this?

Not an MC5 fan, beardown? Or just saying they're not HoF worthy? I'm not a superfan, I don't care for their politics and I don't think they'd get my HoF vote but I wouldn't tell them to go fuck themselves

That being said I like a lot on your list.

I like MC5 a lot actually, I just think there's quite a few that should be in before we discuss them.

The go fuck themselves part is just general disdain the RnR HOF and their insane methodology.

I like most of the artists on the list, just not before Jethro Tull, Steppenwolf, Iron Maiden and Priest.

Tho I believe Bruce Dickinson was once quoted as saying something along the lines of, "We wouldn't accept it if they nominated us...something...something..the rock and roll hall of fame can go fuck themselves with a pineapple."

Paraphrasing a little en sech.

I'm not a huge fan of any of the nominees. The Doobie Brothers seem overdue, but maybe that's because their heyday was mine as well. My guesses -

Doobie Brothers
Judas Priest
Depeche Mode
Whitney Houston (doesn't seem right, but she was huge)
Motorhead

I had the biggest crush on Whitney ... Best National Anthem Ever ... Jimi was second

Many don't even know who the Grass Roots are ... you gotta attach a song (or two)

Grass Roots were my first concert. They didn’t set a very high bar but I have seen worse shows.

JJ Cale
Gram Parsons

This isn't a knock on Leon Russel at all, I love Leon, but I don't know how he's in, but JJ Cale isn't. JJ Cale is my pick for biggest snub.

Honestly, I think Gram Parsons should be in the HOF 3 times. He should already be in as a member of the Byrds, and I'd put him in as a solo artist, and I'd put The Flying Burrito Brothers in.

I am of the opinion that HoF members should be “game changers” or those whose contributions impacted the landscape.

Priest and Motörhead were game changers. Anyone denying that has no idea of the impacts they had on bands that followed them. They set a new bar. They are no-brainers to me. I love me some TRex and Thin Lizzy. But I don’t see that happening.

Can’t even envision 70’s rock without the Doobies. The pre McDonald version had a ton of great songs and the McDonald version just dominated radio. They seem like no-brainers as well. Same with Pat Benetar. She isn’t my favorite but she ruled the airways back then.

Toss the rest in a hat.
