Funny, but this is the best free agent signing in Minnesota Twins history!

Only because Mauer never hit free agency....

:dhd:

He would have been a good free agent signing, I would have given my own money to see him leave town!!!

You gonna keep us in suspense?

Oh, well, have you seen the movie Moneyball? I don't think Molitor ever saw it, or if he did, he hated it. My theory is that some wanted to bring in a bean counter like Oakland and Boston did, Molitor did not want one brought in and the team did not do as well as many had hoped and so since he was unwilling to adjust to the future of baseball, they let him go and his replacement did employ a bean counter guy and they had a great year. Twins have always been a small market team, they will rarely win it all, unless they do something like employing a bean counter math guy to figure out the best players for the least amount of money.

Kenta Maeda, your thoughts? He has four years left on his deal. Moving Graterol doesn't make me jump for joy but I like they did something they thought would help this years team.

I'd love to be wrong but aside from the 4 years control.......this is awful.

NL to AL. His first year clearly his best. Since then its been a max of 150 innings and an era over 4 in 3 seasons. His FIP is slightly better tho, but we don't exactly have a power house infield D or catcher.

Also pretty sure this guy was routinely moved to the bullpen for the playoffs lmao

It also doesnt help that Graterol just recently gained his eligibility to legally consume alcohol.

Just so much talent at such a young age to send him away for a mid rotation guy imo.

He may ultimately just end up being a permanent reliever with good velo and average numbers, but I woulda waited to find out.
