Raonic lost today. To bad as he served for the match and was 2 sets to none up. He's a good player but really can't seem to take that next step. Wonder how he'll do at the US Open.

Smart money says not much. He'll threaten and his serve will do things.

But he has roots for feet....

That kid (OK, 29 not a kid but..) today is the exact kind of guy who can beat him.

That and the big guys of course.

Time for Venus to hang it up. All she's doing is just hanging around now. She can't even win at Wimbledon anymore.

No.

She goes through peaks and valleys.

There's a chance at another good run at a major, just don't know when.

Gauff's match in the 3rd round was impressive.

Down 2 match points, and she still won.

I can't recall many 15 year olds that are that battle tested.

She is the youngest ATP or WTA ranked player!

She lost in the 4th round against Halep, but she still showed fight. Halep leads the tourney in fewest unforced errors.

Capriati made the SF at the French at 14 in 1990, and the SF of Wimbledon and the US Open at 15 in 1991. I don't remember watching her matches this closely back then. The coverage was also probably different, and they might not have showed full matches for the French Open and US Open back then like this. Wimbledon was on HBO at the time.

Disappointed Isner lost.

I'm glad Sam Querrey is having another good run. I'd like to see him do something outside of Wimbledon, though.

Also disappointed Kvitova and Karolina Pliskova lost.

Barty also lost today.

halep played extremely well. amazing gets, and groundstrokes.

gauff looks like she the potential to be better than venus or serena. looks like she has a more well rounded game, as well as power, and speed.

capriati reached the finals of a tournament at 13. seles won the french at 16.

Why did she stop in 2004? She had just made the SFs of the US Open.

You're right, she made Finals of Boca Raton at 13, and Finals in Charleston 3 days after turning 14.

gauff got her comeuppance. was looking vulnerable the last round, and falls to halep in straights.

She was ill the entire match. Probably would have been much closer if not different.

She does not have the power that the Williams sisters had. She is still growing though so we will see. Agree with the rest.

she will have, she's only 15. she's already hitting @120mph serves.

her net game looks good, better than serena's.

I have 2 Serena victories lined up.

I watched her and Murray in the mixed. that was interesting, never watched that before.
