Sorry, football.

My bad.

Though I do remember those games on PRISM with the late, great Jim Barniak...

I remember those days...
As well as PRISM and Barniak

Of course when I watched football back in the day I had to deal with the balckouts and when the games were televised I had to watch them on TV uphill in a blizzard with nothing more than folded cardboard clapped over my ears for ear muffs

Phillies chasing Rendon. Luxury tax or not. They will offer the big bucks. Get him now! Make next season exiting!

Why do I get the distinct impression they convinced Joe to just try dumpster diving, you'll like it!

As a one year deal, it's fine.

He will be playing to prove himself and to earn a multi-year contract.
Elite defense at SS. Could have some pop with 20-25 HR.
Moves Segura/Kingery to 2B/3B, where they should be above-average defenders.

All good points. I guess where I’m weak at is understanding what the backup plan is for the infield if he just flat out stinks. Is there an up and coming infielder that could be ready to contribute? Someone like Alec Bohm, maybe?

Well, yeah, the thing about Bohm is that he hasn't played higher than AA.
Excellent numbers at AA (.269/.344/.500 with 14 HR), but expecting him to make the leap to MLB would probably be a bit ambitious.

Gregorious was averaging just over 3 WAR per season from 2015-2018.
He was hurt in the playoffs in 2018, which required Tommy John surgery and he missed 8 months.
He came back in June 2019, but struggled in the 82 games that he played.
He will need to give us at least 2 WAR to make this a worthwhile investment.

Here's a profile of Didi from the Cincinnati fanbase, who were also interested in him :
Cincinnati Reds: Didi Gregorius could be surprisingly affordable

His value is right in line with what Fangraphs and Sportrac expected.

By now you’ve heard Redon to the Angels for 7 yr/$245 mill that’s $35 mill annual, besting Harper. Stuck with Mikey.

Mikey?
Have you been on vacation and out for the past week or so?

It appears that Klentack made an interesting comment about Adam Haseley being in center field, instead of Herrera (due to his shenanigans), which means we still owe him 20.5 million spread out over 2 years.

Phillies likely to move on from Odúbel Herrera

I think it’s time to just cut bait. Pretty expensive bait on the line, but they can absorb it and give another young gun a chance to work in.

Herrera was never more than up and down before any off the field noise anyway.

I am fine with the team not paying $245M for Rendon. I wanted him at the corner for us....but the Angels had to do something so it makes sense for them.

So I’m guessing it’s an infield of Hoskins, Segura, Gregarius and Kingery at this point?

An outfield of Harper, Hasely (seems like) and....Cutch?

Just getting myself caught up.....

Cutch is supposed to be healthy by spring training.

Other than that, yup, looks like your starting lineup.

Basically what they said.

Bruce and Quinn as the backup outfielders, until Quinn gets hurt. Not sure who their utility infielder will be yet. Maybe they bring back Miller.

Nick Wililams in the OF?
Knapp at C
They did sign IF vet Josh Harrison to a minor league contract.
And they have youngster IF Arquimedes Gamboa listed on their MLB roster, as does Fangraphs.
