Did you just seriously compare Teapots game to Hayes because that's just laughable.I like the way you just brush over Hayes game with a passing comment about "obviously Hayes brings other things to the table". That is wayyyyy undervaluing Hayes impact on the "other things" he brings. The fact is JVR was brought here for 2 reasons and that is to score goals and to make our PP much better. Well he was taken off PP1 because he only has 4 PP goals and he is tied for 81st in the league in goals. 7 million dollars could've bought a much much much better player that would contribute to this team in a much more positive way.

Hayes has been a pleasant surprise. I was good with adding the player, but I thought he was overpaid a bit. He's been great this year. My posts aren't meant to take away from Hayes, he's been everything they could've asked for and more. If he keeps this up for the majority of his contract, he'll have been worth every penny.

Rags are playing great and on 2nd night of a back to back. They beat the Habs 5-2 last night. I expect the Rags to come out like they were fired by a cannon. We have to survive the 1st, which is of course our worst, and take advantage later in the game, 3rd is our best. With the Isles losing in OT we need to keep it going.

Hayes has been just one of the pleasant surprises on this team, NAK and Myers have taken leaps this season and a lot of the top tier players are playing both sides of the puck very well. Also did I mention we have pretty much 2 starting goalies going into the playoffs?

Don't expect him to start fighting everyone in the playoffs or you will be even more disappointed. I'm not sure why a goal scorer is now expected to fight and hit? He is what he is and if he scores a few big goals in the playoffs it will be huge for this team. I actually expect this to happen. It's also not as easy as some make it to hang around the net taking cross checks to your back he pays the price for a lot of his goals. Free agency it's rare to under pay you normally pay more or you simply won't sign anyone so I'm not sure where this overrated thing comes from most contracts are horrible.

If your sick of the JVR posts why not come on everyday and start up some conversations. You dont post anymore and then try to blame the people who actually keep this board alive for not posting the topic you would like.Its simple come on and stay on and post every day about topics you would like and then maybe the topics would change. This is true he has been playing better over the last month credit is due but that in no way does not make him a player that earns his paycheck or give people the right to say he not overrated.

And that’s not team specific. Every single local broadcast in the league pumps their players and their team at every turn. It’s as biased as it gets. And they would be fired if they behaved any differently.

Outside of people that are paid by the Flyers organization, JvR is not overrated. Overpaid, yes. And since his overpayment is universally agreed upon, I would say he is not overrated.
