Big win.
Tough schedule theblast 3 games and we got 4 pts and a 1-0 loss.

Hopefully we keep it going against lesser opponents. Gotta get all the points possible now and try and get in the top 3 in the Metro
Those were three great games and i hope we keep playing that way.

This is the thing that kills me the most about this team. No killer instinct when it comes to lesser talented teams. That's where we should be honing our skills on and strengthening our game for bigger fish. We seem to get up for it, also who finally told these guys if you stand in front of the net you may catch a rebound?
I pray to god we dont do what we have done in years past and just keep beating who ever steps on the ice.

I mean, let's take a look at the age of our youngest defensemen :
Ghost 26
Friedman 24
Hagg 24
Myers 23
Sanheim 23
Provorov 23

It's fair to expect some growing pains, but the potential is already there for future success.

I love our defense as is. Our young defense are doing just fine without the so called experienced player in Braun. Id like to keep Nisky for another two years so we can have depth.

I think this was our greatest challenge of the season last night and we passed with flying colors, despite blowing a two goal lead. The Blues are the defending Cup champs, now have a record of 30-10-8 (most points in the Nhl) and had won 9 straight home games.

Not only is all of this true, those were some serious hometown referees last night, let me tell you that. I absolutely agree with Voracek and Konecny after the game talking about missed calls. This was a very competitive game and the calls should've been even or close to even. Instead, we get flagged for 14 minutes in penalties compared to their 6. We had to kill a bogus two man advantage in the 3rd for nearly two full minutes, plus two other power plays in the same frame.

For God's sake, every time Schwartz gets the puck, nobody should go near him because he falls on his own and we get penalized for it.

So, aside from the one first period blunder, our penalty killing was fantastic obviously. The resiliency of this team was obviously on point, especially considering how bad we've been on the road all season long, really.

I love that swiss army knife type guys like Pitlick and Raffl get goals. That's our forward depth right there providing everything that we need.

Voracek hadn't scored in forever, so for him to come up with that move late in OT is just special. It was a very tentative, cautious OT for the most part, but I blame the Blues for that. I'm sure they knew how good we are in the extra frame and wanted to just keep possession.

I want to say this was more like a playoff game from start to finish, aside from the bad referees. You mean to tell me St. Louis didn't take a single penalty in all of the 1st, 3rd and OT? LOL

We'll definitely take the good along with the bad from these young guys as they grow and learn. Sanheim and Myers both have the potential to be future stars in my opinion and Provorov obviously is already there. Guys like Hagg and Friedman look like they could fit well on a third pairing or as extra depth. If Ghost can return to form in any way, he's at least a power play specialist and a playmaker at even strength that can still bomb it.

I just love Raffl's game and when he gets rewarded with a goal is well deserved.

Now it's time to consolidate these wins against top opponents by destroying Montreal and LA on home ice. It's important not to look ahead to Pittsburgh at this stage. Every point counts in this dogfight right now. We've proven that we can beat anyone at home or on the road, but can we consistently stay competitive long enough to improve our road record and keep winning very often at home!?
