Still, it is tough watching all these cruddy bowls while realizing we were too cruddy for the cruddy bowls. The upside is a new coaching staff and better talent/schemes.

i'm optimistic.

we have athletes on defense and it really sounds like Diaco bypassed all teaching/fundamentals to just install his defense. i think Frost and co will get back on the right track and it will be surprisingly better than we expect. They'll be running the 3-4 more like Wiscy's and i think that will have guys a lot more excited and flying around.

Offensively, i think pieces are there. a lot of returning talent on offense and also bringing in some Juco speed. if we can find a QB that's reasonable, i honestly think it could be better than we think. new O-line coach instills some nastiness into those guys and we could have something there. lots of highly rated guys that need a good kick in the pants from a new coach.

I pretty much agree with JJMs list. However unlike him, i would straight up call NW and MSU tossups. I think we could get to 8-4, but would take 5-7 without blow out losses to anyone. I couldn't imagine much worse than that with the talent we have and the turn around Frost did at UCF.

no offense taken. i am just an optimistic dude. i thought our main area of concern was DB on defense. particularly at corner. hoping the change in teaching can get some guys in better positions to make plays. also better conditioning due to the pace they will be playing it will hopefully help guys out too.

Making a bowl game should be enough to please anyone, no doubt. The cupboard is bare as hell.

With that said, I am fairly confident that this staff knows how to work with a bare cupboard better than the previous staff knew how. It starts by understanding the little things, such as motivation. Previous staff felt that success was completely determined by what was in the cupboard, and just needed more time to fill it up with their pieces.
