Per Scouts #16 in the state carrying a 3* at DE
I've seen him play in person and I've watched his tape. He's kind of raw, but a man among boys. His size and physical stature are likely reasons for the offer. I'm sure they feel they can mold him into their style of play.

He played a little of everything in HS for a kind of bad team (Emerald Ridge). They even ran him out at RB on some plays. He was a force in blocking on the O line and has some natural tackling skills on D. Watched him blow through quite a few blocks to tackle guys inside. Haven't seen enough out of his pass rush to know what he's like there, but again, he wasn't used as DE full time. Bad teams have to take their freakish athletes and use them everywhere which stunts their development IMO.

I know WSU was pretty high on him and fought hard to keep him from committing to Utah.

So he has good taste in the schools in this state anyway. He's got that going for him.

Yeah could end up in the middle of defense if is lateral speed is good, these are the kinds of guys they need. Just hand him to Coach K and let him use him any way he can...

That's just as good as snagging a kid out of Oregon!

Watch some of his hudl for sure. He moves well side to side off blocks.

I mean lets be honest here, he's likely getting this offer this late because they missed out on someone else higher up the board. It is what it is, but at 6'3 and 260 with some of his movement and his hands I can see why there is an interest in what is really a fairly raw talent. Getting a Tongan LDS to decommit from Utah is kind of impressive.

I'll pull his tape. I'm thinking they (Dawgs staff) might pull off a couple more good gets....
I still need to go do the math and see how many offers they have this year.

Yep. It’s been quiet on the recruiting front, but expect a big late push to close things out in Jan. Utah isn’t the only one. Expect a lot of attention from UCLA commits as well. Many have said Mora is acting like he’s completely checked out on UCLA lately and his commits and top targets may be seeing the writing on the wall that he won’t be back next year.

Well it looks like there is only 13 to 14 scholars for this year, of course subject to change if a younger player declares

Only real surprise is he waited this long to announce it considering his family confirmed he was leaving his commitment to Utah and taking the UW offer over a week ago.

Now with Chipper in SoCal, the "visit list" has added a few more names of players targeting UCLA, this can get very interesting quickly...

I would imagine UCLA won't lose many. Chip has to be seen overall as an upgrade to recruits.

Good to see Lake working those kids.

God I pray no one snatches him up this off season.

#14 Commit Richard Newton from Palmdale Ca, RB 3* gave a verbal last night....

Scouts has him listed as #60 RB in the nation. 6'1" 185 pounds scouts say he"s a fluid runner inside and out...

He would be the tallest RB on the staff, but he does need to bulk up a bit to be that replacement power back for Coleman. Still, this kid and Ahmed give you two very different style rushers if Gaskin doesn't come back for his senior season.

Yeah you got two very different backs now.......

And I'm going on record now, Myles returns for his senior year, they'll (program) hypes him for the Heisman next year!
