Giants have signed a couple of MiLB free agents:

Zach Becherer, RHP

Jordan Schafer, LHP (converted outfielder).... You might remember him from somewhere..... Must C: Catch

Becherer was a 15th round pick by the Braves in 2016. Signed a big bonus at $175,000. Had Tommy John before the draft in April. Debuted in 2017 in the AZL Florida equivalent (so rookie ball). Was okay, 24 K's in 18 innings, but also 17 walks. Throws hard. Mid 90's before the injury. Still up there, if not more so. Actually kinda puzzling why the Braves released him so soon. Reminds me of the Cederoth signing last summer. If h's healthy, could move quickly. Reliever profile.

Schafer still does both hitting and batting, missed most of last year with an elbow injury. He was pretty solid in 2016, though, pitching in AA and AAA. 10.8 K/9 in 49.1 innings 3.83 ERA.

Former USF Don star Kyle Zimmer was released by the Royals a few days ago. Today he cleared waivers and is a free agent.

I think the Giants might jump on this one.

Rangers moved Tim Lincecum from the 10 to 60 day dl due to ongoing blister issues.

Christian Arroyo just go called up by the Rays, despite some mediocre offensive numbers in AAA.

I would guess that we haven't heard from tzill in a while is due to the fact that the Orioles called up Andrew Susac last Thursday. He's probably been watching Oriole games.

Well at least we got out of this one

Matt Moore Stats | Baseball-Reference.com

Just placed on the DL too
But the TB trade may be viewed in the same light as the AJ trade when all is said and done.

I reluctantly look at Fox’s numbers from time to time. (He isn’t lighting the world on fire, but he plugging along in A+)

Yeah that one is going to sting for awhile. At least it's out of mind more now, instead of watching Moore stink up the place AND thinking about the crappy trade.

I've either been:

1. In BAL, stalking Sac
2. In YVR, at my oldest niece's Bat Mitzvah...

Your call.

Cody Bellinger started at center field tonight and has been playing there in 5 of the last 6 games. Interesting.

Oh wow. I looked him up and he's gotten torched in 5 of his last 6 outings and wasn't looking great before then. Good thing the Giants let him go when they did. I was surprised, though, that they didn't get anything back for him. I would guess that they at least tried.
