I don't like to invest too much thought into highlight reels other than to get acquainted to a player. Game film is where I really dig in to figure out what kind of player they are. But for now... (fast-forward to 1:20ish)

At first glance...
*Great speed
*Great lateral agility & quickness.
*Great field awareness

Fits the bill :thumb:
Dudes a monster

I don't see the rationale. With Ben signing an extension you don't draft a high round QB to sit for 3 years when they're are a lot more pressing needs. If Ben hadn't signed an extension, then I can see the rationale and only then!
If he plays all those years, look what belichck has set up with jimmy g, u wanna prepare in advance

Not that far in advance. I just saw Jimmy G signed with SF, so BB's got nothing once Tom's gone. Course BB is probably gone too, so why should he care?

I don't understand all the hate on Rosen's character. I have not seen or heard anything that makes me think he'll be a detriment to a team at this level. Sounds more like people are punishing him for his "privileged upbringing". From what I've read on him he's the most intelligent QB in the draft pool. Not to mention the best pro-style QB talent in the draft no question. Darnold is good but I don't think he's as polished as Rosen. Rosen's accuracy & IQ set him apart.

His team mates and coaches have talked down on him

Exactly......... 2 years u groom
IDK about 2 years. I think that's too long for a 1st round pick to sit. IMO you pick Ben's replacement the year he's retiring. That way the new QB sits for a year if Ben stays healthy and then takes over in their second year. You want enough time for the replacement to prove their capable and durable before you have to sign them to a second contract long-term. Too many 1 or 2 year wonders at QB that burn out too fast to invest all in too early and get burned.

All that said, if they can upgrade the backup QB at a reasonable price I'm all for that. If you're making a serious run at the SB and they are, you need a backup QB that can step in and win games for a while. Landry isn't that QB.

The only problem that I see is he's more outspoken than most. Which is why a lot of people view him as a spoiled rich kid. That could create friction between himself & coaches, or teammates if he goes to the wrong team. But Tom Brady is the same. Brady gets away with it because he's a great QB. If Rosen comes in and establishes himself then he can overcome the narratives being placed on him. He'll learn very quickly to adjust his attitude in NFL lockerrooms where individual personalities are more polarizing.

I’d take him that’s for sure

But there's no way he falls to the end of the 1st round. Hopefully all this negative talks makes him fall to the end of the second round or even better 3rd round. I know, wishful thinking!

Rosen does have a bit of ass hole in him, but doesn't appear to be a bad kid...no Ryan Leaf on our hands or anything. That wouldn't stop me from drafting him #1 overall. I think Darnold is more mobile but aside from that I can't say I've seen enough to make a firm call.

If he fell to us at 28 there's no way they could pass on him. Glaring holes aside, a franchise-caliber prospect falling into our laps would be too much to pass on. He would have to severely damage his reputation during the combine for that to happen. But even so, there's just too many QB-needy teams out there. Thankfully for us, that just means more talented prospects at other positions are more likely to fall. I have my eyes on Roquan Smith & Rashaan Evans right now. But I can be easily swayed in the coming months for a FS. I still haven't done much homework on anyone so I'm basing that thought process off of mocks I've been reading.

I did say wishful thinking. I agree, IF he starts falling, there is no way he makes it all the way to the Steelers in round 1. I don't think there is any way if he falls, he makes it past Buffalo or even out of the top 15.

Just the early vibe I'm getting from this "strong QB" draft is shaping up for PIT to get maybe the 2nd ILB, or 2nd FS off the board.

ILB...I have not done much research beyond the top 3 on most ILB boards...Smith, Evans and Edmunds. I'm curious to see Edmunds run, and agility drills at the combine...with his frame if he can play in space and run with TEs, he could shoot up the board. There are some small school guys out there...a must to upgrade this position in this draft and I think they could land one of the top 2, 3 looks promising, they could dbl dip at ILB.

FS...there is enough talent I think at this position to get a player in the 2nd rd...Justin Reid, is a name we've talked about and several others...I'm certain to be watching the S results at the combine. Gotta get more athletic at FS.
