Further to my previous post, I hate that shit! And I don't even like PLD very much as he plays for a division rival in the Q (although it appears he's being traded).

context is being missed here. Thats last years vancouver province newspaper sports cover page, post world juniors, that shredded jake vrtanen ... photoshopped with this years presumed whipping boy

Gotcha! It appears they got rid of the seldom used "Useful" rating, or one would have been given to this post.

Should have realized as that is definitely a funny looking pic! Got caught up in my rant. :L

No blame to anyone. It was just a helluva game and Canada didn't get that lucky bounce. Congrats to the USA on a fantastic performance. If anything, that should pique the interest for next year, all that more.

Yeah, but it was a fantastic game. I'm getting used to being disappointed in championship games, I'm still bummed about the Stamps losing the Grey Cup to Ottawa.
Maybe try competitions where more than 2 teams have a chance to win most years :D

I get that they have a job to do but why the fuck did they have to go there with a 19 year old that just played his heart out for his country? Yeah, no pressure at all playing in Canada.
If the country is going to treat a tournament in which nobody over 20 years of age can participate as if it is a major championship contested by veteran pro athletes, reporters asking questions like that are fair game.

"Let's take a cue from this disgusting behaviour and engage in some of our own!"

As long as the reporters aren't asking nasty personal questions, they're just doing their jobs.

I care much less about what reporters ask the kids and much more about what the kids are paid in prize money for winning this nothing tournament that has become quite the cash cow for Hockey Canada and the IIHF. I'm guessing it isn't much, if anything.

I realize that it is always a bit of a guess and a judgment call, but I think I just doubt that there was even a single person at home wondering about what the answer to that question was.

If the question was asked in such a way as to lend itself to proper analysis of whatever play Barzal mentioned it would at least have that to hang its hat on. As it is I'm not really sure what the point of the question was though.

This can be applied to 90% of journo questions to athletes and their responses. It's as pointless an exercise as there is.

For what it's worth Craig Button ripped Connor Ingram after the Sweden game (on at least 2 occasions). That really tells me all I need to know about what kind of person rips a 19 year old like that. Douchebag.

Or maybe fatherhood has just made me soft.

Oh, you're not telling me anything that I don't already know. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think it can be better than that.

Maybe - Would have been nice to have Philippe Myers last night as well.

Myers would have been nice. Maybe Chabot doesn't have to play 44 minutes if he's around.

I thought Kale CLague was really good though.
