BECKHAM MAKES GOOD IMPRESSION ON O'S
On Tuesday, Tim Beckham had two hits and scored twice in his first game since being traded to the Orioles. The last player to have multiple hits and runs in his first career game for the O's after having already played for another team that season was Brook Fordyce on July 30, 2000 against Cleveland. hell I like knowing we have a closer next year ! our outfield will be younger and better , beckham will have to pick it up from today his d was pretty lame .
Britton is due to make 14/15 mil next year. Seriously doubt they will pay it considering they wouldn't even give Andrew Miller 9mil...

Do we know who vetoed it at top? O's or stros? I'm assuming Astros ownership vetoed it given Britton's injuries.
This was the Astros owner talking on their broadcast Monday night. He didn't come out and say it was the O's but we all know that this sounds like something Angelos would do.

Andrew miller isn't Zach britton . the stros and others will regret low balling the o's on him . Indians great bullpen lost . I think if you say 3 years 40 million he would sign with a pitcher I don't like 5 year deals unless it's bundy or gausman .

we see what we got out of the 10s million starters I would build my bp and take shots at good young arms that keep the ball in the park .

I agree with sir peter on this one . So you want me to give my closer? that if we had him all year we would be in first place . for very little and I want to make people think orioles majic !!!! btw just add how many bs we have had plus the fact we couldn't settle on a decent bp so we had games where we only used the call up pitchers and we got hammered because we couldn't go givens and others . btw where is our lhp in the bp oday is bad this year hope he gets going soon .

I'd like to know who was going to be involved with the trade. Supposedly it wasn't going to be any of their top 5 prospects. If that is true, than I can at least understand why we didn't do it. Supposedly both the Dodgers and the Indians were in on him as well but the Dodgers balked a half hour before the deadline and went fully after Darvish. And if we did trade Britton, I think that either Brach or Givens would've been slotted into the closer role. I think by not trading Britton though, it gives him the next couple of months to prove that he's healthy and maybe if we can get a good enough deal, deal him at the Winter Meetings.

yes but castro should be a starter ! tilly dl injured era or dfa
Should be DFAed imo. I'd rather see a AA pitcher instead of him at this point - or Ubaldo for that matter lol. And I completely agree, Castro should be given a chance in the rotation. He's done nothing but impress.

Put him on waivers and get whatever you can out of him. Even if it requires us to pay the remainder of his salary for this season.

Yea, this is definitely a crucial road trip. We all know their struggles on the road thus far this season, but 2 of the 3 series are against WC contenders in Seattle and LA. 8-2 or 7-3 are optimal, but they have to go ATLEAST 6-4 to keep themselves in contention and come home with an above .500 record.

1 down. They need to take this first series tonight with a quick 2-0 and not let the Halos breathe.

They play LAA tough usually. That is not the teams I am worried about the most, although all games are crucial.

It is the Ms and A's who are the Orioles killers.
