I would think he could find a better fit with a lower-tier team.

My guess is that the Giants were interested all off season but wanted to give him a chance to sign with another organization. Now, with spring training starting, and no one else signing him, he came back to the Giants. Totally guessing here.

Fortunately he swung the bat today and was by all accounts feeling great and yada yada.... but yeah given his history this is not a great start.

Wouldn't be surprised if games missed in the entire OF combines to more than 100.

Between Herk and Span, that will be at 120 at least. And that doesn't even count left field or backups.

He has been an absolute pinball since the trade. I actually thought he was out of baseball.

Too bad. Kid had a hell of arm. He just thought the game owed him something and that meant automatic failure.

I do believe he was out of baseball and the Royals agreed to give him a try. Too bad for him it didn't work out. I found it interesting it was the Royals, considering how he did for them the previous time they brought him into their organization.

big fan of this hire.... seems some of the giants responded positively to bonds when he was a spring training hitting coach a few years ago (mr. belt in particular).... hopefully he can bring some hitting mojo
