Where is Dexter Williams? He's on special teams but no carries against Georgia.

What the fuck?

I agree between that and the play calling I'm not very happy with the offensive coaching staff at the moment. The Defense showed up and really by and large limited the best RB tandem in the country they did get burned some but they played well enough to win the game. The run plays they called weren't working and they just kept going back to them and didn't use all their RB's to keep people fresh. The O-Line didn't look very good and I don't think Nelson or McGlinchey will be 1st team All-Americans this year maybe borderline first rounders maybe.

"" ... when a reporter asked Kelly on Saturday night about how he would handle another close loss, he repeatedly cut her off and pointed out it wasn't a one-possession loss against Georgia. It was only a one-point loss.""

same old kelly. he's fine with the one point loss and don't you dare mention it to him.
what did ND fans do to deserve this guy? and if i hear one more person suggest he brought the team back i think i'll scream. yes, he dragged ND back to mediocrity, had one VERY lucky year and at least has over a .600 win %. is this what we were after?

wish i could be as optimistic as some of you but i'll be surprised with anything over 8 wins.

Well as bad as the WR's that have been playing have looked perhaps someone new will get something done. But this is most likely more or mostly a QB issue compared to WR issue.

Another run of 70+ yards. Leads FBS in that category.

Also, flirting with 10 ypc. He's right with Bryce Love, who USC did a better job of holding in check.

And not much Heisman recognition. It's not his fault he never gets to play in the 4th quarter. . .

Wait a minute, it is his fault.

At the risk of jinxing it all, I'm starting to get a feeling I haven't had in a long time, specifically 1993.

No, I'm not saying this team is as talented or as good as that squad was. But they are very, very slowly starting to make me believe. In 1993, we weren't expected to compete at the beginning of the season. We had lost a lot of talent from the year before, including our two stud RB's (Brooks and Bettis), we were breaking in a new QB, in fact, Ron Powlus was slated to start before getting hurt pre-season, and Kevin MacDougal, previously unheralded, was thrust into the starting position (MacDougal wouldn't even start every game, having been injured himself). But they had to fight and claw their way up to the No. 2 spot before the showdown with pre-season ordained champ, FSU. We all remember what happened in that game (except the young pups here).

Even allowing for the let-down for the ages the following week, people forget that was a decent BC team that was ranked. But that was honestly the last time I was confident in every game, truly honestly believing we would win every one.

Its taken me a lot longer this season to start to come around, but Sat. night, we did something I have never seen. That was the widest margin of victory over USC I have ever witnessed. It wasn't a nail biter, and we've done what we have all season long, and that's win the games you're supposed to.

I'm not quite at the level I was at 1993, and next week will go a long way towards making me a believer again. This is a highly talented NC State team that has had two weeks to prepare for us, and has probably the best collection of DL we will face (and yes, that includes GA). We win this one after the hype from Sat., I'll start to believe we can win any game again. Even more so if we dispatch them the way we did our archrival.

Lets keep this gravy train rolling guys.

Okie dokey. After that display Sat nite, he deserves to be in the discussion.

I'll be a real believer, if he busts a hundy against another stout rush defense in NCSU ... comparable to UGA.

Me too.

Tony Jones has looked better, but I think we'll need a healthy Dexter for this one. Should be a physical game and we don't want Adams carrying the entire load.

I've no clue what's been going on with Dex.

Some say it's his ankle still gimpy ... others say he's not completely 'outta BK's doghouse' for whatever reason. E'ryone keeping a lid on this issue for some reason.

I wasn't aware it was a "doghouse" problem. I thought it was injury-related. We have an embarrassment of RB talent and we can use Dexter as a change of pace kind of guy. He's not the workhorse Adams or Jones is, but he can break almost any play for a score.

Finally, we'll get the answer to what happens when an irresistible force meets and immovable object.
