I just saw that Mike Tirico will be doing the play by play for ND this year. Probably an improvement although I think of him as a Michigan fan. In any event, probably an improvement over an obvious BC fan like Flutie.

I think it's an upgrade, but it will be interesting when we play Michigan, considering the fact that he lives in Ann Arbor.

So it will be a Michigan fan, and a Boston College fan. If we could just get Pat Haden back it could be three of a kind with BC, USC, and Michigan. I thought NBC liked us.

Mcglinchey and Nelson were just ranked the #5 and #1 offensive linemen in the country. And then Kelly just said that Barr is the top performer in the preseason practice. We could have a truly outstanding line this year. Great thing for a new QB and a bunch of good running backs. I'm getting pumped.

Mike Tirico takes over as NBC Football announcer:

He will replace Dan Hicks, but will still be with Flutie, Kathryn Tappen will still be a sideline reporter.

I don't get the Michigan fan worries.

He got his broadcasting start in Syracuse where he went to school. I always remembered him on the local stations. I'd always take him for an SU homer more so than Michigan although I think he's from there.

Kevin Stephenson has pretty much been scratched from the team. He's barely participating in drills now. I wonder if he'll even be on campus for the opener. Seems like WR is the position with the most questions which is surprising to me.
