I guess my main issue isn't with the short term guys we're after but the calamity DL recruiting we've been up to for several years running and that it was no secret when the new regime took over, with or without MC /VV coming back.

It was becoming clear by last October November timeframe that HH wasn't getting much done if anything at all recruiting wise yet the past few years we were letting local guys sign elsewhere while we were left holding the empty bag, yeah I realize they may not have been up to our 4* only standard but they would have filled the slots which is all they're trying to do now imo

Grades don't matter at ole miss' and most SEC schools, hell Vince Young got his degree at UT school for kids who don't read good

That's not necessarily true. There's a certain point where you can't swing it no matter what. North Texas is one of those schools that tends to take this sort of player. There are plenty of examples of highly rated guys that end up in juco that many schools would have loved to be able to take.
