The Indians are a game ahead of Houston for the league's best record and reduced their magic number to clinch the AL Central to seven. Cleveland trailed Houston by 14 games on July 22.

pretty crazy it was 14 games made up in less than 2 months.

but i guess a eighteen game winning streak will do that. lol

Embrace it ... streaks like this don't come around too often. You should be bragging that the Indians have the great run differential in baseball.

I remember 1984, the Tigers started out 35-5 and were never out of first place. We were 3-0 in the Pennant Series and 4-1 in the World Series. Crazy fact: 1981 Dodgers and the 1984 Tigers are the only World Series Champions without a Hall of Fame member (not counting those who are not yet eligible).

In the shadow of an eighteen game streak, their nine game win streak from 7/22 - 7/30 had a fair amount to do with it as well.

They're 40-16 in the second half.
