Isner has never made it past the 3rd round at Wimbledon. At this point in his career, it's a gift that he could scrap himself this far.

I agree he hasn't played well here in the past. I had him going out in the 1st round.

I'm just not that high on Tsonga right now, that's why I thought Isner had a chance. It was more about my lack of strong confidence in Tsonga, then about Isner turning a corner.

I see what you're saying.

And after the Nole loss, I'm not very confident in anything.

Isner serves a little better than Tsonga, but Tsonga is better at everything else. I just don't know if the edge with serve, alone, will be enough.

The letdown is like the recoil of a gun. Things look to balance out normally! But I wish him well and if an American can even get to a slam final will do wonders for US tennis after the Roddick era.
