a series sweep if they have an ok bullpen and instead they get swept. this feels so much like those series against the twins about a decade ago

Was thinking exactly the same. We gettin owned ever worse by KC though. This pen is just stinkin it up. KC had to come from behind in every game this series ... and they did.

BP scoring this series: 16-1 in KC's favor. How fng pathetic is that?

I can't stand watching losses like these. I'm still so friggen mad I can hardly type.

That decision to bunt melky might be the worst decision I have ever seen a manager make. Holy shit

And poor, hard-luck Q gets ganked again with another totally anemic display of hitting. NO run support ... again. :L

Guy goes out there game after game and throws his ass off ... for nothing.

LOL @ Albers leadoff double in 13th and chugging his fat ass standing up at 2B ... almost getting thrown out cuz he's too fat to slide.

And then the next pitch is a passed ball sending him to 3B with 0 outs. :pop2:

Albers helped redeem some of his recent crappy outings today. The whole pen did, yesterday too. Beating a good team on the road 2 out of 3 counts. It's great they have good pitching, but it would be nice to get some offense going.

Yup ... cept the Mutts are far from a good hitting team. They're, actually, worse than our guise ... thank gawd. :)

I think hitting is down everywhere this year, a lot of it because of the shift.

Might have a very valid point thar ... I hadn't thought much about that aspect. :suds:

Yeah I don't have the data but that's a hunch, only Boston and the Cubs seem to have really good offenses.

Tonight's loss was big, IMO.

It really killed the momentum we seemed to be regaining in New York. It's absurd to call anything a "must-win" this early, but if Sale doesn't win tomorrow night. I think we may just go right back into free fall mode, and wake up in a few weeks 7 games below .500

rv, in his infinite wisdom thought the best thing to do after 6 innings and only down by 2 was to bring in two aaa relievers and let them take their lumps. in other words ... he gave this one away with the excuse the regular relievers were over-taxed. so let's look and see just how "over-taxed" they were.
in the last 7 days:

putman ... 3.2 innings
jennings ... 1.2
jones ... 3.1
robertson ... 3.2
albers ... 3.1
duke ... 2.0
and they ALL had thursday off!

seriously? this is all we can expect from a major league reliever today? can these pussies become any more .... pussified?

i've counted 7 games now where rv has almost guaranteed a loss because of the way he 'manages'. obviously reinsdork, williams and hahn could not care less.
hate to tell ya all, but hope is gone! if any of you expect anything better than what you're seeing with this collection of trash then you are freaking out of your minds.

SELL THIS FUCKING TEAM!

Sounds like sox just made a deal for shields. Sounds like Eric Johnson and a couple minor leaguers ( not Anderson or fulmer)

so we will pay him somewhere around $42 million thru '19 if we keep the option in '19. little more than ten a year and gave up little in the way of prospects. was expecting a whole lot worse. still, it's a lot of money for a 34 year old pitcher who is in the midst of a terrible year. we can only hope he hasn't dropped off a cliff talent-wise as some players do.

His yr hasn't been that bad considering he has an era in the low 4s and just gave up 10 runs in 2 innings in his last start. He did give up a bomb to bartelo though..

alright, i will amend that with "poor" year for him. but he also has a very high whip IN THE NL.
i'll be hoping for the best but, as usual with the sox ... expecting the worst.
