Can't win them all but quite annoying that they looked so shitty at the plate against a guy hanging every breaking ball he threw tonight. Knuckles last night looks to have Frazier lost at the plate again

A lot of people keep telling me they are a mirage, but I never get tired of redirecting them to the standings. This team has some really good talent, especially in the bullpen. This team reminds me a lot of the early '80s Sox, minus the shitty uniforms.

eaton's war (third in the league) is higher than trout's! never thought i would be saying that.

i picked this team for a sub .500 record but now i'm starting to feel the toes in my mouth. hopefully by year's end i'll have my whole foot in there.

Gotta keep the pitching up ... especially this stingy pen.

I think the hitting is gonna come around ... startin to, already. Shakin off those cold April cobwebs and hitting nicer weather.

As I stated, the plate discipline, so far, has been night & day from previous years. 9th in walks and 22nd in strikeouts. That makes for great OBP ... something this team has struggled with, along with getting what base runner we could get on all the way around. I don't think we're LOB as much as we used to, especially in the late innings.

Okay ... this kid Gonzalez looks like a keeper. Don't need to see Johnson back up here as long as this kid can keep this up. That's two great outing against 2 tough AL lineups .... Toronto & Texas.

Kid had a W tonite against the Rangers until Jones pissed it away.

regardless of the great start this season, the sox still made some awfully stupid decisions this year. sands is one of them and rollins is also one. sticking with danks again as long as they did just shows how slow-minded they can be.

First bullpen meltdown of the season. Happens once in a while to everyone. They are on pace to win like 110 games so they will have to cool off some.

Nice to see some of the players finally start hitting lately.

Side note Trayce Thompson just hit a walkoff HR for the Dodgers. Dude's numbers are pretty good already, I think he's a future allstar. Was sorry to see him go.

7 runs in the 8th is more than just a meltdown. straight up pathetic. i will never understand pitchers throwing breaking balls behind in the count with a huge lead. let them hit the fucking ball. all walks do is open up the opportunity for a huge inning

Dunno how in the hell you walk Prince Fielder (.188) to load the bases instead of freaking pitching to him with Rua on deck. Two nites in a row we unnecessarily walked this Adam Dunn-ish slump hitter - no excuse for that.

Please, let this just be a blip/hiccup game for what has been a stellar pen, so far. Gotta think it was just one of those nites.

AND Rodon looks like ass as of late and needs to get his mojo back. He's struggled his last three games and needs to get it together. I'm guessing the rain delay didn't help matters for either side.

Shake this off and try to forget about it. Horrible loss though.

i think we're seeing the effects of letting pitchers arrive in the majors too early (sale was a rare exception). rodon should never have been brought up last year. the fact he had some mild success probably was the worst thing that could happen for him. i can see him losing his confidence fast and getting worse, not better.
