Tommy Thigpen and Zach Azzanni were in Alabama meeting with Velus Jones. We are still expecting him to visit this weekend and from talking to several I get Tennessee feels like they've positioned themselves nicely heading into this weekend.

Don Mahoney was in North Carolina Tuesday night meeting with Landon Dickerson and Dickerson continues to be a priority for this staff. But, he was a popular man as several staffs were in the home with Dickerson. Dickerson will see Alabama in January as well as Georgia on official visits.

Said he really was surprised by what all Tennessee had to offer. He talked at length about the staff letting him know he has a legit chance to play early in the slot because they have little depth there.

Jones said that was the most important part of his visit, finding out how Tennessee would use him.

As for a timeframe, Jones said he wasn't sure what he was going to do or when. He said other visits are still up in the air and will let us know when he decides what's next for him.

Just caught up with Lavert Hill and he said he had a very good time in Knoxville this weekend. He spent a lot of time with Marquill Osborne and noted, "He was with me the whole time." He added they hit it off pretty good.

He noted that he really liked the people in Knoxville and liked getting to spend time with the coaching staff. He said he wants to be able to bring his mom down for a visit in January if they can get something set up. Obviously, we hear that quite a bit, but if that can happen it would be big for the Vols.

As of now, Hill said he knows he wants to visit Ohio State and USC but didn't know when those will happen. He added that he could take a visit to one of the instate schools.

I have heard that Ohio State is a major factor for Hill so they may be the team to beat right now. He added he could make a decision at the Army Game but is leaning towards not doing that now.
