Great stuff man! I think Davis will have a role as the season goes along on 3rd down in lieu of Timmons...but I expect Golden to start...we know how coach T likes vets so Golden will have to really stumble to lose his job.

TE...I think James steps up a lot this season to become that two-way TE....my concern is Green might not get enough reps with Ben to be that down field threat we're hoping for.

Congrats on the new family addition...it's a life changer for sure!

Early reports from the first day of pads talked about Davis really layin the lumber... Glad to hear his transition to the NFL hasn't made him shy away from contact. He was a heavy hitter in college.

Green... No doubt. I hope that we get some sort of return timetable on him soon. Haven't heard or read anything about it yet.

Thanks brother! :suds:

Davis...great to hear that...we're both Timmons fans. I played golf with a Steelers fan a couple of weeks that feels Timmons is being mistreated, he should have an extension already, etc.

My position is Timmons is no longer a 3 down player...at least not a whole season...they are a bit hamstrung on what they can do because the restructure bonus has to hit the cap this season...his salary...$8mil+...very fair...the problem I see...Timmons can probably be a 2 down player into next season, but at what cost? $5mil? $4mil? $3.5mil? I mean how much do you pay him w/o it being a slap in the face?

At the same time, VW will get starter snaps somewhere else if they don't transition him in there and he will cost not much more than $3mil per....too many 3-4 teams out there.

If Davis is catching on quickly...I expect them to play 3 S on third down a lot more this season.

I agree with you. Not just Timmons (even though he didn't look nearly as effective last season), but the position isn't worth the amount anymore. Like you said, probably a swan song season.

"Could sideline him well into the fall. Second-year corner has yet to play a preseason or regular season snap. Missed all of 2015 with a torn labrum. Rookie Sean Davis can expect to get more play nickel slot snaps now."

@ATL96Steeler

Real bummer... These injuries take a tedious amount of attention & time to rehab.

Wow...maybe this kid is not destined to start for the Steelers...tough on him I'm sure.
Sad considering how pumped the coaches have been to see him back on the field. Really frustrating to have that much potential but can't stay healthy enough to make any impact.
