Offseason scuttlebutt...nothing we haven't discussed, but hearing from some other sources.

  1. There are some in the Steelers organization that feel Timmons will be extended before camp is over...it certainly make sense given his '16 CH...I'm still thinking he will be a Steeler in '17, but not sure how they will make this work if the Buck is becoming a 2 down player.
  2. Hargrave is just a natural NT, easily plays low with good strength...they expect him to get snaps as a rookie.
  3. Sean Davis is looking better than expected early, if he continues on this path in camp, he should see some snaps as a rookie.

Other notes worthy of consideration...

1. Both Dupree & Golson have been sitting out of OTA's with "soft tissue" ailments. Regarded as minor, but still worrisome. The term “soft tissue” leaves things open for interpretation. Most are commonly considered ligaments and tendons but can be for many different parts of the body. The best news about both is that the injuries are considered short term, and in Golson's case, not related to his surgically-repaired shoulder.
2. The much anticipated "battle of kickers" between Boswell & Suisham is turning out to be no battle at all. Most of us anticipated a trade of Suisham, for logical reasons ($), but the team seems content to hold onto him. However it has been reported through multiple outlets that Suisham is still recovering from his torn ACL. He believes he should be ready by TC, but nothing is certain at this point. We will have to wait and see.
3. From outta nowhere some reports surfaced about McCullers getting his shoulder scoped to clean up an injury that he suffered during his college days. Somewhere else I read that that he was suffering some vision problems and had to get contact lenses. These changes, along with him working hard to trim down and play lighter (reportedly lost 15lbs) is really going to help him be the type of impact player he is capable of. Or at least there is quite the optimistic buzz circling him.

1.yeah, I've read those reports and truthfully didn't know what to think about them.

2. Interesting...I thought it was a forgone conclusion as well that Sweezy would be shipped.

3. Even though this has been non-contact so far, I'm sure the rookie's presence has spurred something...good to hear that.
