It's understandable that the Lakers aren't in it for Durant, honestly. That young core is going to take a couple of years to maturate before they can be a winner. Also, there's the lingering direction of the franchise to consider.

Whiteside not taking a meeting with the Lakers is more concerning if anything. That's pretty shocking to me.

Maybe Whiteside holds a grudge against them for not signing him to their preseason roster a couple of years ago. It's not like the Lakers are the only team that can give him a max this summer.

3 years is up after this Season.

I don't think firing him now will help anyway.

Jeanie does have business partner considerations that also play a major part. Another season of TV ratings heading towards Clipper's territory will not make Time Warner Cable happy.

Pisses me off as I don't even like the Lakers. But I like to see them be near the top, just so they can fall hard. Although I was rooting for you guys in 2010 and not the Celtics. So there's that....
