Not matching TJ would restore $1.2 M in space, giving Miami smidge over $20 M for Wade if it chooses to use all on Wade (if no Durant).

They have to be scouring the Summer League for somebody that can come in and maybe help. The old diamond in the rough or a vet who is playing for his last chance at the league.

What money are you using to pay Pau?

Wouldn't you have to trade Bogut?

Getting Durant was predicated on No Barnes, No Bogut and other guys.

If you match Barnes, how you gonna pay a Crawford or Pau who want big paydays?

Pretty sure they can act quickly and sign Crawford and then still re-sign Barnes but they go into the tax to do it.

It's more than just Durant. They have issues with him specifically.

Monte Poole of CSN Bay Area:

Drafting Jones also was, according to league sources, an indication of the team’s frustration with starting big man Andrew Bogut, who is a candidate to be moved should the Warriors succeed in their pursuit of upcoming free agent Kevin Durant.

The Warriors, should they win the race to KD, will have to shed salary and several sources indicate they’d like to move Bogut as much if not more than anyone else.

the team has grown frustrated by Bogut’s unreliability, particularly in times of greatest need. Because he turns 32 in November, it’s unrealistic to expect much to change.

Bogut’s well-documented injury history, according to sources, accounts for only part of the team’s annoyance.

The Warriors apparently were displeased with much of Bogut’s postseason work prior to the injury.

Though the team firmly believes Bogut’s value is only partially reflected in his individual statistics, his numbers were nonetheless unkind, particularly as related to rebounds – which became an increasingly higher priority as the Warriors continued their march through the postseason.

They have always needed another big the last cpuple years

According to league sources, the Warriors — while they wait on a decision from Kevin Durant — have reached out to Clippers free agent guard Jamal Crawford and Memphis Grizzlies free agent forward Matt Barnes. But the likelihood of getting either appears slim.

If the Warriors get Durant, all they would have to fill out their roster is a $2.9 million exception and minimum contracts to sign players. Even if Durant returns to OKC, the most the Warriors could spend on a free agent is the $5.6 million mid-level exception.

The Warriors would have to dump their assets to get under the salary cap to have more to spend on free agents. The only player they were willing to do that for is Durant
. No KD, the Warriors are content to find what they can to plug into a core came a couple shots from winning back-to-back titles.

You dump Bogut to get Crawford. Easily.

Yeah, I don't think the Warriors would have to give up anything to trade Bogut. 11 million is looking good compared to other centers, which there is always a shortage of. Plus, there are always teams looking for expiring contracts.

11 mill is a bargain right now.

Dallas might go for Bogut since they can't get any free agents to come there.

Barnes and Bogut might be better than the alternative: to strike out totally this summer.

I mean, I would.

But, who plays Center?

Ezeli is basura.

They have scoring...So, they don't need Crawford. But, he'd be a luxury.

They would have to likely renounce Barnes, Ezeli, Speights....

That's a lot to lose when you could just keep Barbosa.

They drafted a center.....didn't they? A guy that looks like he could be a player.
