Creativity only gets you so far....

If you want difference makers, ya kinda have to pay them in this climate.

You will have to give up an asset to get somebody to take Bogut.

Maybe let Barnes go to Dallas if they take Bogut too?

We wont have to give up a asset for bogut. 11 million is not that much in this market for a difference maker on defense

Yeah, I don't think the Warriors would have to give up anything to trade Bogut. 11 million is looking good compared to other centers, which there is always a shortage of. Plus, there are always teams looking for expiring contracts.

I'll make it easy...

If you renounce everyone, you are still 10 mil short of Durant.

Have to trade Bogut, bring nothing back....not impossible.

If you don't get Durant, letting Barnes walk only takes away his 10 million cap hold.

You would have to renounce Speights, no biggie, and probably Ezeli too.

That might be enough for Pau..But, they aren't willing to do that...allegedly.

You don't think so...?

He Is chronically broken, just like Rose.

Why on earth would anyone take him over Greg Monroe for a Season without an asset?

There is a reason you guys want to upgrade him.

Greg Monroe is on a expiring contract too.

Better yet, Vuvecic still has years at good money.

Bogut is a good defensive Center. But, he's always hurt.

Talk about a poison pill contract to make sure a team doesn't match.

That Tyler Johnson deal is making a very hard push to overthrow Mozgov and Turner for "Worst Deals of Free Agency". The Nets realize they don't HAVE to hit the salary floor right? If they fall short, the difference in salary is just split amongst every player on the roster. I'd much rather do that than pay Tyler Johnson 18mil per year on the back end

Some guy i follow on twitter

Bob Voulgaris is pretty funny at times (he basically hates every coach ever. It's funny). Big time NBA gambler that knows his shit but I'd be wary that he actually knows some breaking news.

I don't think the Warriors purpose is to upgrade at center. They would love to keep him if they could. He led the league in DBPM, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think we could get anyone better at this point. The plan seems to be that if they get Durant, they will have to sacrifice Bogut and go with whatever crap they can find at center.

Well, they can still average the salary for cap purposes.

But, the Heat can't.

The 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement gives a major advantage to teams writing these poison pill contracts. For salary cap and luxury tax purposes, only the average yearly value of the deal is counted. But a team matching the offer does not get the same benefit.

It's more than just Durant. They have issues with him specifically.

Monte Poole of CSN Bay Area:

Drafting Jones also was, according to league sources, an indication of the team’s frustration with starting big man Andrew Bogut, who is a candidate to be moved should the Warriors succeed in their pursuit of upcoming free agent Kevin Durant.

The Warriors, should they win the race to KD, will have to shed salary and several sources indicate they’d like to move Bogut as much if not more than anyone else.

the team has grown frustrated by Bogut’s unreliability, particularly in times of greatest need. Because he turns 32 in November, it’s unrealistic to expect much to change.

Bogut’s well-documented injury history, according to sources, accounts for only part of the team’s annoyance.

The Warriors apparently were displeased with much of Bogut’s postseason work prior to the injury.

Though the team firmly believes Bogut’s value is only partially reflected in his individual statistics, his numbers were nonetheless unkind, particularly as related to rebounds – which became an increasingly higher priority as the Warriors continued their march through the postseason.
