Is there any advantage in the Cavs waiting to get J.R signed?

Based on what we've seen, any guesses at what his contract will be?

3/36M?

Cavs at 78M now ( 9 players).

I am not saying that he is going, but all this hype is starting to remind me of the LeBron decision. Media keeps reporting that he is almost definitely staying, yet he is intrigued by other opportunities. The media was certain that LeBron was staying too, even though LeBron refused to comment on free agent destinations every time he was asked, much like KD has done. The media built up expectations for Cleveland fans, and I feel that the same thing is happening here.

When a star player keeps his feelings close to the vest as KD has done, the reality is that nobody knows. He might stay, he might go, but I seriously doubt that the Thunder truly are 90% favorites as the media has reported.

Just remember OKC fans, KD has handled his free agency extremely well. It is not his fault that the media speculates on him 24/7. If he decides to leave, it is more than fair to be disappointed, but let's not villify him the way LeBron has been.

Well Lebron did fine up until he actually signed so I doubt KD will do the same thing as Lebron, every free agent learned from that situation. I just think since OKC went out and made that trade it shows more to KD, in Lebrons case Cleveland got him nothing. I think he stays in OKC I will give it 70%

12-15 mil. 4 year, 4th option maybe. I'm gonna say 4 year $60 mil the way the market is. JR is better than a ton of $15 mil guys honestly

Ticket prices continue to rise. The average fan will be watching the games on television while all the fat cats will be in attendance.

I love the intangibles Al Horford brings. I just don't see how his are the ones that the Celtics need to get out of the 1st round. -- @RicBucher

I think it definitely helps Boston but I said it in another thread. He is an All-Star when everyone sees this contract people think he is a star. Love had the same or better numbers being the 3rd option and he is making 7-8 mil less a year.

Think KD goes back to OKC or signs 5 years/$175M with the Celtics?

At the risk of sounding like a Celtic hater(well, I actually am)....but what is really the appeal with the Celtics? Honestly. I mean Isiah Thomas is good, and they have decent role players, but I never got why so many people had them as the team that was "just missing one more piece" to push them into contention...
Folks still remember the heyday of the Celtics.

In hindsight, Love should have signed a 1 year, last year.

I agree.
He's been great for the Cavs, and considering the Cavs wanted Shump, it just goes to show...

I was just wondering if there was an advantage in waiting since I haven't heard his name mentioned.

Curry will eventually need to be max'ed.....next summer I think. The Warriors are going to be fucked by the Cap pretty damn soon.

Yep.
They wasted a golden opportunity games 5-7 to repeat.
It's now only going to get more difficult.

Bazemore got 17.5 million.....if I were Crawford I'd be demanding more than what he got.

Anyone know what time Heat meets with Durant?
I know it's going nowhere this year because of the Bosh situation.

We should get KD's decision tonight or tomorrow sometime. I know we have a slim chance at getting him, but I'm holding out hope.

Yeah. Warriors slid by given the players that they were able to add given Curry's low cap number. That man is sure to get a Conley contract, if not more.

They'll have to be very smart with 1st and 2nd round players in the draft. They do have Thompson and Green on really good contracts though.

Not sure the time, but I'd guess it's in the morning/early afternoon since he's meeting with OKC later tonight.
