I just saw something in the NBA section that has to be rumor.

Shump for Okafor or Noel? No way Philly falls for that.

Why would the 76ers have any interest in making that trade?

No idea. Like I pretty much stated in my post that you quoted.

No way Philly falls for that. They may have an abundance of big men but they can get a lot more than just Shump.

Agreed.

I'd be fine with the 76ers taking on Shumpert if it's a salary dump by Cleveland that nets the 76ers a future 1st round pick. Otherwise, I have no interest. I've certainly got no interest in including Okafor or Noel in the trade.

Brandon Knight's name keeps popping up in the rumors. Now, that name intrigues me. I probably wouldn't give up Okafor but I'd consider a deal centered around Noel and Knight.

Would you really want that first round pick though? For the next couple of years, that pick is going to be late in the draft given that Cleveland will go deep in the playoffs for the next few years. Those types of picks seldom work out.

So, basically it keeps him under contract this Season and the next.

But, he has a player option for the 3rd year...

Am I reading this right?

They only get to keep him one extra year?

I guess it's better than nothing.
Stranger things have happened I guess, but I don't know why he'd be interested right now.

I still think that he wants to experience being a free agent next summer, but a deal that raises his 2016-2017 salary by about $9 million and that delays free agency by only one year is worth considering.

If all we are doing is taking on Shumpert's contract? Sure. I'm thinking 2020 or 2021. LeBron will be 35 or 36 by then, likely on the decline, possibly hampered by some injury at that point. Or, who knows, maybe he will have butted headed with Dan Gilbert by then and the team turns into a complete mess again.

This would be cool. KD was holding Russell back. It's his team now and with the talent this team has he can take them far. Crazy though as I thought KD would be the one to stay and Russ would be the one to leave. Hope it works out this way.

Do you really think the surrounding talent in OKC is that great? I like Adams and Kanter, not sure about anyone else.

This is great news for Thunder Fans.

I didn't think he would sign until the Summer.

Congrats!

Oladipo, Ilyasova and Sabonis were all solid additions. It will be interesting to see what Alex Abrines brings (6'6, 190 SG/SF, drafted in 2013 formerly of Barcelona, just signed recently). It was the Abrines signing that essentially kicked Waiters to the curb.

Not good enough to stay in the top 4 out West.

But, they could be a playoff Team.

I thought Orlando was high for trading away a young Olidipo.

But, now that he expects a max deal, it makes a whole lot more sense.

He's Avery Bradley at best, Robert Pack at worst.

I wouldn't give him the Max.

Sabonis will probably not have much impact in the immediate future. Doubtful for Abrines either. Olaidpo and Ilyasova are solid additions but the team just doesn't stack up against the handful of elite teams right now. It'll be fun to watch Westbrook on his own, though. We got a glimpse of it two years ago. He will probably lead the league in scoring.

Westbrook did a great thing here. Maxed out his salary while essentially only increasing his contract by just one year. It gives him a chance to see how well OKC will do with just him as the lone star. If he doesn't like it, he explores the market after the 2017/18 season.
