My concerns with this is injuries. Will Jack stay injury free, we already know Lee has a hard time doing so.
I'd probably regret doing so in a few years, but I'd pass on Jack at 4. Trade back and steal him a few picks later and I'll be more inclined to pick him.

Makes sense. Wonder if Philly would trade up to the Cowboys spot and land Wentz/Goff. THey've swapped in round 1 before.

It would take the 8th and both 3rds just to break even. I'd think Philly would want to make the trade more than Dallas, because I think Dallas may just want Wentz themselves.

Dallas could go so many ways but if I was a fan I'd go Jack. I cant say I watched him play but what I read about him is that he is an elite coverage LBer. Sean Lee might be the best coverage LBer in the NFL right now. It would be such a huge advantage to have 2 great coverage LBers in todays pass first NFL.

But Ramsey with Scandrick coming back and last years #1 out of UConn would be pretty dope too.
Probably the best defensive and maybe best player in the draft. But is he healthy?

Agree, but my concern isnt injuries in general, but rather just this one. This is going to sound like semantics, but let me try to make my point. I'm not worried about him getting injured over and over like Lee. It's just can he get over this one injury and be the same player? Unlike Lee he hasn't exhibited enough separate or recurring injuries to get the "can't stay healthy" tag. But,this current medical may make me pass on him based on how he checks out at a private workout.

Jack to me comes down to how much better you think he is than guys like Ramsey or Bosa. If you think he is a lot better you probably take him. If you think it's close or the others are better you pass. The others fill a bigger need on the team as well. So there are two reasons to bypass Jack for the others.

Now a similar but more severe case is Jaylon Smith because of the nerve damage. A lot of people are thinking he goes undrafted. I don;t see any way that happens. He is just too good. Our late picks stink anyway. Might as well take a flier...

Jaylon Smith - LB - Player
Notre Dame LB Jaylon Smith (ACL, LCL) says his rehab is "going great."

"I am leg-pressing over 600 pounds right now," Smith said. "I am squatting over 400 pounds. I am getting that strength back. It’s just a matter of time." It's good news after Smith's gruesome Fiesta Bowl injury, but the Combine medical recheck looms extremely large for his draft stock. It's there that teams will determine the extent of his nerve damage in addition to his torn ligaments. Once a potential top-10 pick, Smith is in danger of a draft weekend free-fall.

unless his knee is just toast I don't see him falling out of the 2nd round but some think he is a day 4 player

I cant see that but if so I take the flyer on him and let him heal as long as needed

I can't even guess where I think he goes. But, I would be surprised if he goes in the first or second round unless his follow up Medical shows A LOT of improvement...

please no more trading with philly. If ramsey gone I would not be against trading with niners.

In the 32 team NFL Draft we start Monday on the Mock thread, I traded up to #1 to get Wentz. I came out +800 on the pick/point scale, gave up my 2nd but got back the first pick of round 3 . I know Wentz wouldn't help us as much next season as Ramsey would, but I think we'd be better off shoring up QB long term. Could turn around and trade #1 for another package, say a 1 and a 2 and I'd end up netting a high 3ed, but it's hard to pass Wentz....

Can you try to format that post so it's just a little bit longer? I'd like it if it actually reaches the floor...

Not sure why tf it turned out like that, I just copied and pasted it from the NFLTR site and thats how it turned out. Wasn't near that long on that site obviously. I probably should have edited the length but....screw it. It wasn't worth that much effort.

I hope Dallas isn't trading up for anyone. I rather have Hargreaves and the round two pick over Ramsey

Agree. If they trade up for a CB they better think he is Revis. Last time we did that it didn't work out so well...

The only person I would trade up for is Wentz. He's not going to be there at 4, and I believe Dallas would be a perfect spot for him to develop into an all pro. He has every tool. In Dallas, he could sit a couple of years, then come in behind the best OL in the league, after learning from one of the best in the business for a couple of years. Otherwise, we have enough holes that anyone else we get at 4 will help
