I love the French Open, but this time of year is always crazy busy for me.

I haven't even really noticed all of the weather problems since I pretty much just watch on DVR anyway.

The fact that there are really only a handful of singles matches left to play for the tournament makes it less of a drag.

That could mean 4th round Wednesday, QF Thursday, SF Friday, Finals Saturday.

When you watch on the DVR, like I do, you'll notice the watermark only says "Tennis Channel", instead of "Tennis Channel Live".

Last year, I was out of town Friday - Sunday of the Final weekend.

I made it without getting any FO spoilers, nor Game 2 NBA Finals spoilers. The only thing that was spoiled was American Pharaoh winning the Belmont Stakes and thus the Triple Crown, and that was just bad timing. Some people were passing by our room in the hotel, and just happened to be talking about it as they passed by our room.

So, other than that, on Monday, I was able to watch the NBA Finals and the SF + Finals of the FO, without knowing what was going to happen. It made it even more satisfying to see Wawrinka's comeback, because I thought the match was over after he lost the 1st set, knowing how unlikely it is to beat a top player when losing the first set.


Similar to last year, I will be out Friday - Sunday.

However, in a few days, I'm going to create a thread and ask kindly that people update it with any changes to FO scheduling. For example, if on Saturday, instead of the normal time, coverage will begin 1 or 2 hours earlier to complete other leftover matches, then please note what time the coverage will start on that day. So I can then program my DVR to start early.

Or, if there's a Monday schedule, then that too.

Normally my DVR is good at picking up scheduling changes, but sometimes it doesn't. For example, for today, it didn't pick up that stuff was supposed to start 3 hours early. Fortunately, I had set a manual recording last night in anticipation, to start 3 hours early.

I'll explain all of this again when I create that thread, tomorrow or Thursday.

I wouldn't mind seeing Stosur win, after losing here before in 2010.

I did enjoy seeing Schiavone beat Stosur, because she played a more fun, variety style, but it would now still be nice to see a veteran win another major.

I just wish Stosur could more consistently make the 2nd week. It's annoying to see someone win or get to a final, then not make the 2nd week 3 out of the next 4 majors.

So Murray was up 5-2 in the first on Gasquet and ended up losing 7-5

Berdych won surprisingly easy. Could be a sleeper, but he usually checks out at some point. Thiem wins too
and looks very good. Djoker through but dropped a set.

Keys crapped out. A bit disappointing. Venus out too. Serena wins easy though. Muguruzza coming up and has looked very good.

I still have not seen an entire match yet though, LOL.

This tourney (at least on the men's side) may actually finish on time if no more weather. Sucks that the top half of the bracket all will have to all play on 3 straight days in order to reach the finals but at least its even

Yeah, was disappointed for Venus. She had been playing her best tourney in years.
