Anyone going to watch the all star game? Probably not me. I can't imagine cheering for Donaldson or Encarnacion to hit a game winning HR.

If I'm home I'll probably flip back and for the between that and something else. I won't plan my evening around it.

This guy is singing the praises of Jackson. Always had the velo, control is the issue and perhaps handling MLB pressure

I think he goes out and gets a guy for the pen that's not even on our radar. Our scouts are really good at finding guys with major potential who have pretty average numbers and then letting our coaching staff tweak them to end up with some really solid relief pitchers.

We really need a bit more MILB pitching depth too. Need to pick that up some how. Yeah these out of the blue guys JD gets. Impressive. Although still dumbfounded the demise of Tom W

Rangers' Martin Perez: Will start next Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Perez will lead off the Rangers' rotation in the second half next Friday in Chicago against the Cubs.

Perez last pitched Wednesday when he allowed seven earned runs while taking the loss against Boston. It was his first loss after winning six straight decisions.

Rangers' Yu Darvish: Could start Saturday after the All-Star break
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Darvish (shoulder) could come off the DL to start Texas' second game after the All-Star break if his rehab start at Double-A Frisco on Sunday goes well, T,R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.

An official decision could come as early as late Sunday, though it's more likely that Texas will wait until early in the week to see if Darvish is able to go through his between-start bullpen session without any issues. A pitcher of Darvish's caliber is usually a slam dunk lineup addition, but he'll have a tough initial draw in Wrigley against the Cubs.

Rangers' Cole Hamels: Expected to start Sunday after the All-Star break
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Hamels is expected to get his first start after the All-Star break Sunday, July 17, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.

Hamels has allowed 10 runs in his past 8.1 innings and gets a tough initial assignment in Wrigley, but the short week will provide limited opportunities to dip into your depth if you were leaning toward looking elsewhere in smaller leagues.

It appears if we want Fielder replaced in the lineup, ownership is just going to have to pay him to go away. Don't think anyone is taking him off our hands even if we ate all the $

I think Santana is cheaper and you really know what you get and he will eat innings. We just can't keep putting Cheech and Nick out there and get such a beating. I also wonder if we get a SP if JD slips in and gets a relief guy too.
I missed LeClercs last outing but heard he was pretty wild. Has good swing and miss stuff. Probably not quite ready but our options are currently limited

I was thinking about this very thing happening, much like it did when we got Diekman along with Hamels. I'd love to see Ryan Buchter or maybe Brad Hand added in along with Drew Pomeranz. Both of those guys are having really good years out of the Padres pen. Or if we go the Minnesota route for the back end starter in Santana, see if they would include either Abad or Kintzler.

Could be a bargaining point regarding Satanas salary.

Main thing is getting someone we know who can help and not have to pay thru the nose for it.

Darvish had a decent outing. He threw 72 pitches in 5 innings. Kela had a good inning. It will be good to get those two guys back after the break.

Brinson appears to be picking up steam after his latest shoulder problems. I hope he is completely well now. In his 9 games since returning he has 2 HR, 2 triples and a double. He is slugging .636 in those games.

I wonder if we consider trading Moreland. I would like to see what we can get for him and let Rua and Profar handle 1B until Gallo is ready. Are any of the contenders needing a first-baseman?

Not sure he holds much value tbh.

last season might have been the best time to move him, probably had the most value then. Hindsight is what it is

No offense, but "Fielder in the lineup" is pretty fucking far from the biggest problem right now. The Rangers have gone 3-7 this month and given up double digit runs in half of those games. They just got outscored by the damn TWINS 38-18 in 4 games. At home. I'm not even going to bother looking up what Prince did in the series, because I know he didn't pitch; therefore, he's not the issue right now.

I miss the days where he was the only thing wrong.

Defense has been a killer too.

Fielder may not be the biggest problem currently, but he is the problem that will be the hardest to fix and the most long lasting problem.
