I'm okay with that period.

Also, Malkin's goal had some serious heat on it. Rinne reacted immediately. The puck just beat his glove to the spot. Incredible.
He definitely got all of it

Totally different game if that Predators goal does not get overturned. I don't watch Hockey enough to say if it was a good or bad reversal but based on what NBC showed, I don't think they had clear enough evidence to overturn it.

Bad rule that was close enough that it could have been called either way.

But shouldn't they have stuck with the original call in that case? Something similar to how the NFL do it. On close calls that are not clear even after replay then you just stick with the call made on the field (or in this case the ice) ?

If they had an angle which showed his skate off the ice before the puck crossed the line, that's all they needed. And we don't get to see every shot they have.

Incidentally, this is just another part of the rule which is very stupid.

THe offsides review is pretty crystal clear.
Most casual fans are not familiar with it, but it was correctly done.

it is a dumb fucking rule nobody likes
, but it happens all the time now.
If you a millimeter offsides, they will reverse it. There is zero wiggle room.

They dont enforce it like the NFL. The replay booth makes the call instead of the ice call.

The NHL is draconian ever since they introduced it.
Not, the first time or the last time it has happened this playoff season.

That is disgusting. At the very least the catfish could have been somewhat intact.

Oh God. Edzo's right. There was just a raw fish on someone's person in the stands. For an hour. What a smell.

Even though it helped my team out here, it is a shitty rule. If the NHL keeps it they need to at least put a time limit on it. EG..If you are in the offensive zone for more then 10 seconds before scoring, the opposing team can not replay the offsides.

A time limit would be nice, but the rule (in regards to reviews) need to eliminate the stupid "both skate on the ice" part. Because skating doesn't work that way.

To talk about the "spirit" of offsides, he was not offside. He was just... moving.

Also, the line is six inches wide. Offside when it comes out and goes back in, the puck has to be completely on the Neutral zone side of that line. But in this case, the line is the O-zone side.

That's a lot of what we call "room for error". The rule needs some serious clarification.

Instead, we whine about goalie pads and how scoring is down.

And now Forsberg gets a call with some twinkle toes shit of his own.

Cole just wanted to make Neal feel better about himself, taking a stupid penalty of his own.
