Daley deserved his penalty, but I do think it's funny that punching is only illegal during play, but if you throw one after the whistle, it's all good.

They've probably been thinking that for a little while. But the refs have had ample opportunity to call any number of obstruction penalties on the Preds and haven't yet.


It'll be a phantom trip, though. They'll miss a blatant interference, then call a trip which didn't happen.

Seriously, at least throw it at a decent time to throw a catfish on the ice. Why not when your team just iced the puck at the end of a long shift? Why throw it when it doesn't really help your team at all?
