hey- i have been on both sides of it....I can tell ya- LeBron does manufacture drama at times---- but il ldeal with the overhyped drama about finding a back up point guard if that is the difference between sucking and winning

in the grand scheme- REALLY- its almost humorous this has all started about finding a backup point guard, lol.

Cavs fans mentality.
There's plenty of ways to win without James.
Its happened 10/13 times since he's joined the league.

At this point there is no guarantee he stays there more than 1 more season, so I guess enjoy it, put up with it, or whatever you choose.

I was over it (him)by the time he left here, but it wasn't hard cause I never cared if he came in the first place.

hey- when you have LeBron you have to deal with his crap- it is what it is.

when it comes down to it, id prefer watching a team compete for titles than wallow in the lotto.

The timing actually makes sense because this is the time of year when you make moves for filling out a roster.

It just looks bad when your team is losing to bad teams. It comes off as an implication that the reason you're losing is cause you're missing that 10th player off the bench. Which is way I said it was stupid for LeBron to use it an excuse for their poor play. I don't think he ever said that directly... but when you go on a rant about it after a bad loss... that's how its going to be perceived - as it should.

No 10th-11th player is making an inch of difference.
James wants a 4th star to stay even with Warriors, and he doesn't care what it costs Gilbert.

To be fair, we have know idea what Gilbert promised him during their secret plane meeting, so maybe he did tell him that no tax amount would ever be too much if it meant the potential difference between winning and losing a championship.

I guess the question is, whose call is it if it will make a difference, and what happens if he spends the cash and Warriors (assumed) still smoke them?

Difference is I like watching the NBA in general, which includes all teams.
I'm a fan of the game and appreciate the talent throughout the league.
My favorite team can't always be good, but they'll find a way to climb the ladder like they always have.

I watched parts of every single game last night except Lakers.

I mean, I'm sure LeBron would love a 4th star... but that is NOT what he has been saying. Listening to Charles Barkley and others you would THINK that's what he was saying. He never said anything like that. LeBron isn't stupid. He knows the Cavs aren't going to magically add a star this season. It isn't possible.

He's literally talking about a 10-11th player, maybe like 8th at best if Griffin pulls off something amazing.

And yes, the difference a player like that will bring is mostly in the regular season... and hopefully a few key moments in the playoffs.

I disagree.
I think James wants Melo or Wade.
He's not getting Melo because Cavs have no picks to include and I don't think they move Love.
Wade is my guess.

As far as your theory, you mean guys like Delly and or Mozgov?

They both could still be there if Tristan and JR got paid what other teams would have been willing to pay them.

Same here. If you're just a team fan, you would have a rough time watching your team when they're going through the rebuilding period. Your team isn't always going to compete for a title. Is Wiggy telling us that when the Cavs go back to sucking, he won't be watching as much?

If LeBron had a chance at Melo or Wade... I'm sure he'd jump on it... so long as the tradeoff wasn't too high. But a scenario like that is incredibly unlikely... no matter how on-board the Cavs FO is... and I think LeBron knows that.

If you listen to LeBron's actual comments... he threw out specific names of examples of guys teams picked up. They were bench guys... like 8-10th in the rotation type of guys.

They could've kept Delly AND paid Tristan and JR what they did. That might be part of LeBron's frustration. I'm sure the FO assured LeBron that if they let Delly walk they would make sure to find suitable replacements. I think that's what they're trying to do now.

They could use BOTH Delly and Mozgov right now from what I've seen.
James success is fueled by role players and both understood what theirs were.
Delly ran that offense pretty efficiently last season when called upon.

where do you get that from? that he wants a 4th star?

My guess is from the stupid comments by Barkley and others. They reacted as if that's what LeBron was asking for... which, of course, he wasn't.

It would have cost more than $100M to keep Moz + Delly.

Strictly my opinion, but I don't think its any coincidence that both he and Wade went the route they did at basically the same time.

I think Wade could be had without the Cavs giving up any major assets.
I believe the issue is what it would cost Gilbert next season, which would be a fortune adding 25M base plus taxes.

And you know this?
How?

You really thinking he's calling out the Cavs front office over the need for Mario Chalmers?

As I asked earlier, do we know exactly what Gilbert promised James?
Maybe he really did say money would never be a factor?

Because I listened to the actual words that came out of LeBron's mouth.

This is the problem. Everyone gets their news from sensationalized headlines and pontificating pundits instead of paying attention to the actual source.

You consider Chalmers a play maker? I don't and I watched him for several years. Solid player but playmaker and Chalmers doesn't go together.

LeBron used the term "playmaker." What does that mean? For sure, it could be interpreted to mean another star. Honestly, I think they need to trade Kevin Love while his value is high and get a different star in his place. Love will impede this team from beating the Warriors.

Here's the original quotes. LeBron was obviously talking about bench guys, 9th-12th in the rotation:

Obviously, in the playoffs, you go down to what, eight max? And if somebody gets in foul trouble, you go to nine. You’re not playing back-to-backs. You have two days in between. You’re able to lock in. When you don’t have bodies, though, it’s tough. The (expletive) grind of the regular season. We’re a top-heavy team.

He also name-dropped Raymond Felton, Michael Beasley, and Dahntay fucking Jones as examples of veteran bodies that can help you get through the grind of a regular season.

His specific examples were Raymond Felton, Michael Beasley, and Dahntay Jones. I'll let you decide if he was talking about a star.
