The problem here is it won't take may more losses to start slipping down the list of seeding. Also, in comparison to the West they're already sitting on the borderline of #4/#5- record wise- behind the top West teams. So that means they wouldn't have HCA in the Finals no matter which top team came out of the West. Not a good look for the defending champs.

Meanwhile the Warriors are continuing to get better down the stretch.

If James didnt care, he wouldnt have played 45+ minutes the last 3 games.

I think Gilbert is the one who is planning ahead not to care.

James finally has no opt out.

That means he got 5 seasons out of him.

Does anyone think James will be better in 2019 season then he is now?

You dont think its possible that Gilbert doesnt want to invest a quarter of a billion dollars in a 34-35 year old player who has the miles that James will have on him?

Could definitely be. I think Chicago didn't consider fit at all. But still Wade overall is a high caliber player in the league even at his age and mileage on his legs.

Everyone could see a mile away that things would clash with Rondo/Wade/Butler situation going on.

I agree about Wade's caliber. Even though I don't like him based on some of the things he's done.

i would say that even with the rising of the cap- 40M a year is a good deal for a guy who is a high level al lstar- not to mention a hometown guy and guarantee to draw eyeballs. If LEBron wants to take that deal Gilbert will give it to him. I dont think LeBron wants to commit like 5 years like that though- i doubt he does.

plus, guy just turned 32....he has a long time left to go - especially if they take care of him and he takes care of himself....knock on wood- the guy has still never had a major injury in his entire life- he is a freak of nature just looking at him/
