I think I heard last night that the last time a visiting team won game 1 of the SCF trailing going into the 3rd period was the Devils against Dallas in 2000.

Negative, the Devils won that game 7-3. I believe Eddie the Eagle accidentally took Nyquil or something before the game. For his sake I hope it's true, he allowed a goal to the guy who holds the record for longest goal drought in history:

I think this series will open up more offensively. This was just round one of the fight with them feeling each other out.

i got that feeling as well just for the sake of the Hawks thinking. man yep lets turn it on now we stole the first game late.

That was the thing though, they both only faced barely 20 shots. When Tampa went to prevent mode in the third, the breakaway was the first offensive chance in that period with 8 minutes and some change left.

I dont think anyone only expected 20's from these two teams. I am sure if Tampa gets up to the high 30's or 40's more than one is gonna go in.

Good Crawford showed up for game 1, he made several big saves when the Bolts were leading 1-0 especially in the 2nd period to keep the Hawks in the game.

They made sure to point out about a half dozen times that Tampa was 8-0 so far in the POs this year when leading after 2. About the third time they brought it up I said to my wife that they were going to lose now.

I blame NBC.

I think they also mentioned at least more than once the undefeated mark in the playoffs when Killorn scored as well...

You think the game will be delayed if the horse race goes long? Sometimes those horses really fight to get in the gate. Last I heard its 4:50 eastern for the horses and 6:15 for the pucks.

Why do they need two full days off for a second game in the same city? The NHL milks the post season for way too long, by the end unless your team is playing in it people are either distracted or don't care anymore!

It seems that a lot of time has been spent by the Bolts trying to reassure themselves that they've "moved on" from game 1. That isn't the feeling I get when I hear them in interviews.You can sense their profound disappointment from the loss. The Hawks are more than capable of having a disappointing loss and bouncing back. Example being game 5 against the Ducks. Of course I could be wrong in my assessment. But I do think the Hawks will be going for the quick kill in this series. I like their chances so much that I'm picking them to win game 2. Rather handily too! If that happens it's over.
