Baseball is a series sport just like the NHL and NBA. It is a play in game. Simple as that. If you believe otherwise that is fine. Neither game felt like a playoffs game to me. They both felt like game 163 to make it to the real thing

Yeah Jays are in a bit of trouble if they lose game 1 with their ACE since they don't have another ace on the staff. They're not the Mets or Dodgers who both have multiple ACES that they don't have to get too concerned if they lose game 1.

Stroman allowed a grand total of 5 ER in his 4 starts last month. He was fantastic.

Of course, those starts were against weak, non-playoff teams in New York and Boston so maybe I'm being too optimistic.

I'm an advocate for a best of 3 WC playoff series...but right now it is what it is.
Doesn't take away from the fact the playoffs began on Tues.

Price handled Texas just fine at the end of August - allowed 2 over 6 on 5 hits.

Estrada did just fine against them, too, although Gallardo was better. As long as Stroman can hold his own, it'll be on the bats to get things going.

Ask Pirates fans if they feel like they made the playoffs the last 2 years. The only sport where a 1 game series is acceptable is the MLB. You only feel like you make the playoffs if you actually make it to the best of 5 LDS series

Price post season numbers is concerning for an ACE. The only year where he was really good was the year when Tampa made the WS

Pissing off management is never a smart move....unless totally & unequivocally justified...and even then it's usually a good idea to just bite your lip.

Maybe Rock thought he was teflon..like his hero,TB???
