Inconsistent tape for the kid, but nobody can deny that he is freakishly gifted. At 6'4" 270lbs he posted a 4.56s 40-yd dash and a 41" vertical. Also posted a 11'6" broad jump. Thats just insane! Vic Beasely is only 1" shorter, but 23lbs lighter and yet only ran the 40 in 0.03s faster. Considering that Dupree is hauling 20 more pounds and is just as fast... Ridiculous. I think if he was playing at a bigger school he would have been a top 10 pick. Like I said... Inconsistencies were a big knock on the kid. He is a raw talent, so we'll have to be patient. But with Moats being chalked in as the start for now, I think we are going to see this kid early and often splitting snaps or starting. Dupree is explosive and strong. He could use some refinement on his run support technique, but as far as rushing the passer... He has the physical tools, and I'm sure it will take him little time to build that repertoire during camps under Porter's tutelage.
Butler has to be foaming at the mouth over this. Tomlin stated it perfectly... He is a "unique animal".
Also loved hearing his interviews. He's a big fan of James Harrison. Not a bad idol if you ask me! lol
At this point, ya can't pick Collins before Day 3. Still too big of a risk that he never plays which if he gets cleared in the end is very unfortunate.Surprised he was on the board. With the top 3 CBs gone...interesting that they left Byron on the board.
You said it well...at KY he was IT on DEF in terms of legit playmakers...easier to key on...if he was @ UGA, Bama, etc. he goes higher for certain imo.
I'm happy with the pick, now to see who they pick @ CB...several names that we've talked about are still on the board...unless there is a run on CBs early...should have 2 or 3 guys there.
That said...if La'el Collins is still there too...what do you do?
cant be upset about this pick, figured hed be long gone
steelers philosophy is take the best player available at the time generally..... are you happy with your first pic gen?I love this pick by the Steelers. Everyone saying they had to take a CB and that Dupree would go top 10, no way did the Steelers expect him to drop to them, but what a steal. The guy is a freak! Its like they got a taller, faster James Harrison and the kid gets to be coached by Joey Porter. Its no guarantee but he is in possibly the best environment possible for success at his position. I expect great things!

He reminds me of Mack LY. Coming from a smaller school. But as we learned from Mack, top 10 is always possible no matter the school. That also could have a lot to do with the Raiders consistently being in the top 10 lol.Surprised he was on the board. With the top 3 CBs gone...interesting that they left Byron on the board.

Still a lot of talent left in the CB pool. I expect the Steelers to take one @24th in the 2nd. I could see any of the following being drafted by PIT (no particular order):
1. Darby FSU
2. Rowe Utah
3. Collins LSU
4. Rollins Mia (OH)
5. Smith Fl-Atlantic
6. Williams FSU
7. Shaw USC
8. Nelson Ore St
9. Grant OSU
10. Carter Stanford
If La'el was still there it would make me think long and hard about it. But honestly it would be an easy decision to go CB over him. Simply due to the extreme lack of depth at the position. Losing Taylor & McCain, and then not landing either of the 2-3 FA CBs they brought in, that has to be looming over their decision making right now.
Didn't hear that. Obviously didn't happen, but maybe they will find a suitor in the middle of the round to move up 10 spots or so.Rumor is they r trying to move up to the first pick of round 2
his ex was murdered and he wants to be considered for the supplemental draft and be released from this draft so he has time to clear his name ... he is not a suspect in the murder ... but people are sayin her death benefited him cause he gets his kid and doesn't have to pay child support nowWho the he'll is this Collins schmuck....
What kind of a douche makes demands about being drafted???
I hope everyone just leaves his dumb ass unemployed.
